Homemade ice cream, or porch ice cream as we like to refer to it, is at the heart of what we do. It’s the ice cream many people grew up making on their porches at home with lots of ice and salt and their own homemade recipes. Ice cream that focuses on quality ingredients and flavor. Our business began in 2001 as a mobile ice cream business and we opened our first brick and mortar location in 2017. We quickly outgrew our shop and moved into our newest shop in October of 2021 that offers lots of production room, indoor seating, an event room, and plenty of parking and outdoor seating.

We had Smiley’s truck come to our daughter’s wedding reception. Biggest hit of the night! Not only was it fun and different, everyone said it was the most amazing ice cream they have ever had! It was the best decision we made for the wedding!! The owner came himself and served ice cream, he was so kind and made our guests feel so comfortable. The proportion size was great, and they even could get more than one flavor.
We loved it so much, since the wedding, we have taken a 2-hour drive twice just to get Smiley’s ice cream! There is nothing like it.

This is a super easy stop right off of i-81 near Harrisonburg. Ice cream is super creamy and they have fun special flavors. Today’s was chocolate covered pretzel! Plenty of parking and plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. If you want some delicious ice cream with a view of the mountains, this is your place!

If you’re anywhere in the area I highly recommend Smiley’s ice cream. They use fresh milk from Mount Crawford creamery and the ice cream is homemade. You can also get pints and quarts to go. They have a cooler with last week’s flavors that usually a good deal of. Their normal flavors are very good and they always have some interesting ones. My son especially likes the milkshakes. It’s a big place and they also have a party room. This is definitely a step above of all ice cream places I’ve visited.

Great ice cream, and prices were reasonable!
I got a Coffee shake, and it was really good. It’s made out of Java Chip ice cream, and they blend coffee with it. It has chocolate chips inside the shake! However, if it’s too bitter, I recommend adding white chocolate syrup inside to help balance things out.
Near the back of the shop, they have a whole coffee station where you can add different syrups.
Highly worth a visit!!

THIS PLACE ROCKS!! My favorite ice cream flavor is the peppermint brownie, not just favorite smileys ice cream flavor but favorite ice cream ever. I wish they would bring it back more often. Cookies and cream is my favorite permanent menu flavor for sure. The staff is always nice and I appreciate the student discount. 10/10 would recommend!!

The best Ice Cream I have ever had. I live almost an hour from them now and I will still make the drive because it’s so worth it. The monthly and weekly flavors are a delight. I truly have never tried a flavor I don’t like. I also love that they are local and take care of their community. 100/10 recommend.

This is my favorite ice cream. We decided to try their ice cream cakes and weren’t disappointed.
Pictured is the salted caramel chunk cake, serving size 4-6 slices. I cut it into 8 slices and they were still pretty big, as you can see the two remaining slices that are still standing. Definitely recommend!

We loved working with this company. The ice cream is DELICIOUS. The best ice cream I have had. Their truck and signage was so cute for a wedding. The communication before, during, and after was amazing! If youre looking for ice cream at your event or want to stop in, you will not be disappointed!
