Only minor issue: no high chairs available for kids, which would make it even more family-friendly. Still a must-try pizza spot and one I’ll gladly return to.
Their War Pigs pizza which was a special collaboration with Cherry St. BBQ, is a pulled pork pizza with barbecue sauce, pickled jalapeños and red onions topped with cilantro. It essentially resembled what the pulled pork meal is like at Cherry St. BBQ, except in pizza form. There was a good amount of pulled pork within the pizza, and the use of barbecue sauce instead of marinara/tomato sauce helped bring up the barbecue taste and flavour. Portion size was good for one, and is easily shareable as the pizza is four Square slices.
Overall, this is another recommended pizza spot in the Leslieville area. They also offer online ordering which is a seamless process and can set up a pickup time. Service was very friendly, and the restaurant has a mix of indoor and outdoor seating.
I ordered the classic pepperoni pizza — a generous serving of cupping pepperoni topped with oregano and fresh basil. The sauce is excellent, but the real standout is the crust. It has a crispy, cheesy edge that’s perfectly caramelized and packed with flavor. I also tried the garlic dipping sauce, which was great, but honestly not necessary — the crust is that good.
The pizzas are around $25 and are very filling, even if they look small at first. The team was friendly, and the service was quick. They do sell out fast, so it’s best to order in advance.
A great spot for anyone looking for high-quality, Detroit-style pizza done right.
Slowhand has been on my “must-try” list for a while, and after seeing dozens of glowing reviews, I finally pulled the trigger. I’m so glad I did.
The foundation of this pizza is the dough: it’s fluffy, light, and features those perfect crispy edges that only a sourdough base can achieve. We tried two pies: the Pineapple Express and the Peter Piper.
While the Pineapple Express was delicious, the Peter Piper was the absolute star of the show. The combination of pepperoni, hot honey, and whipped ricotta was out of this world—I’m salivating just thinking about it again!
The service was standard and did the job. If you’re a fan of high-quality crust and inventive toppings, this is a solid recommendation.
The pizza i got was the pineapple, mushroom, and ricotta cheese pizza which were all really good
Only downside was that the price felt a little steep. Our total came to about $90 after tax for the three variations. Still, the taste and quality were absolutely there. Definitely worth checking out if you’re craving Detroit-style done right!
