I was a bit disappointed with the level of quality I’ve come to expect here. Ive always been pleased and happy to eat at sleepy bear. I ordered the hot honey fried chicken sandwich, for the first time today. I showed up at 1:05 and put my order in around 10 after. The food came out about 30-40 min later.
I’m not so upset about the length of time. I’m more disappointed that the chicken and fries were just kinda warm, after all that time. As if they were in the window 10 min longer than they should have been. Additionally, the chicken to bun ratio was way off (see picture) from what I’ve come to expect from sleepy bear. ESPECIALLY for $17.

Food was great! Service was excellent. Best pancakes I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant. Our omelets and waffles were prepared beautifully and were delicious. The only thing I’d mention is wear a sweater as depending on which table your seated at the ac blows right on you. I know for some that’s a plus though.

I always have great experiences with coffee at Sleepy Bear. The food is usually hit or miss, but this was terrible. Not only was this not what I ordered, it was incredibly sloppy and soggy.

My daughter and I were in the area and looking for somewhere to grab lunch. We found this place on Google and so glad we did!
It’s super cute inside. Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and helpful. They have Christian music playing which is a plus!
My daughter and I shared a ham & cheese omlette, gouda grits, and chocolate chip pancakes. I also got a hot honey chicken biscuit. Everything was delicious! We dug in so fast I only have photos of half of it
For drinks, I got the “boujee bear” which is salted caramel & white mocha. I got it iced and it was super yummy! My daughter got a chocolate chip cookie dough frappuccino which was also great.
Everything was brought out quickly and exactly as we ordered. We really enjoyed our visit!

The place was fantastic. Food, service, atmosphere; they were all top notch. I noticed one reviewer mentioned prepaying for food and gratuity with no server… that’s not exactly accurate. You prepay for your food and then seat yourself. Don’t prepay gratuity if you don’t want to or if you don’t trust them but, the servers and service are great. Your drink won’t go empty, your food is brought out very quickly, they are very friendly and will check on you, converse with you, get you what you ask for and pick your dishes up once you are done.
I ordered the shrimp tacos and grits. The grits are super creamy and perfectly salted with some shredded gouda on top to melt in. The shrimp were seasoned and fried to perfection. This place will be a regular of mine for quite a while. There’s a bunch of items on the menu I can’t wait to try.

I was driving back from Wiggins to HATTIESBURG. I’ve seen this place several times and decided to stop. There are many options that look great on the menu, but I believe if someone can’t cook a good hamburger, the rest of the food might be trash. So I started with a hamburger to decide if I’ll eat there again. I found a home cooked burger that reminded me of my mother and my grandmother. I don’t know if they had onion powder in it or not, but it just had this taste that I remember when my parents would fry hamburgers when I was a little girl. The service was professional. The restaurant extremely clean and everyone was courteous with quick service. I have no photos because I ate it lol. Will be back for the pasta next time.
