Skagway Brewing Company stands as the town’s flagship spot, not just for beer and hearty plates but for its sustainability efforts. Their aeroponics system is a genuine point of pride (I did ask if I could see it but was told only employees have access)
I visited with a group of eight coworkers, and the team handled our arrival with easy confidence. Between dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegetarian needs, the staff navigated every request without hesitation and with no issues, which made the meal relaxed rather than fussy.
Beer and food both showed steady, thoughtful execution with utilization of local ingredients from spruce tip to halibut. Crisp, light-bodied fish and chips set the tone. Burgers and sandwiches hit the table stacked and satisfying. The salads were enormous. And in a surprise twist, the Big Whole Pickle became the star mascot of the night, winning the table over with its unapologetic crunch.
This is also a good spot to watch a game. We caught an NFL game, along with many locals (the same we had as guides during our day excursions) contributing to the lively energy without being overwhelming.
Skagway Brewing Company delivers a dependable blend of sustainability, comfort food, and good beer, all wrapped into a space big enough and flexible enough to make group dining easy.

My husband loved the fish and chips. My niece went to town on it. I had the chili cheese fries and the chilis is delicious. It had beans, my favorite. The wings were good. We also ordered some of the in house root beer! It came is an ice cold mug. They had an elevator to take you to the second floor. We also enjoyed the gift shop on the lower level. My sister-in-law loved the chapstick. I appreciate the staff as we witnessed someone pass out in front while we were there on a port day. Several of them ran out and sprang into action to help. We highly recommend this place!

Another little gem in the Skagway area. Stopped by after doing the White Pass train ride. It was a short walk from the trains first stop back into town. It was fairly busy due to everybody on the cruise ships getting back from their land excursions. Took about 30 minutes to get a seat. Atmosphere was pleasant and not too loud. The food and service was excellent. The beer? It was great! Another wonderful place to stop by to break up the repetitive food choices on your cruise.

Great stop for a beer and a bite. Had to try the Spruce tip Blonde, for the vitamin C. A nice light tasting beer. Their salmon dip was out of this world! We ate at the bar side of the brewery. Seating is a bit confusing. Signs on the table that have no service but you can order at the bar, appear to be seat yourself? The hostess seating people would seat someone and disappear. Maybe she was hoping everyone would just go away , it was the end of the season. The bartenders were awesome. Definitely swing by. The line moves pretty quickly.

Halibut basket and salmon dip were delicious! We did the beer flight, I don’t really like beer but had to try some of them. Staff was nice. There was a bit of a wait but they move people in efficiently. Lots of tables! Recommend

We were in port with just one ship so it was a pretty empty day the wait around 11 was still 30min. It went pretty fast and it was nice to get a text when the table was ready. Food was good, the service was quick and they kept making sure we were good. The upstairs gets a little crowded but they did a good job of fitting everyone in.

Fish and chips was delicious, my wife had the Alaskan halibut clam chowder, she loved it. I had a pint of their blonde ale, one of the best beers I have had in Alaska.

Skagway Brewing Company is a hidden gem in this charming Alaskan town. From the moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in a cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. The selection of craft beers is impressive, with a great mix of classic styles and innovative brews that showcase the brewery’s creativity.
But it’s not just the beer that shines – the food menu is also a highlight! From juicy burgers, beer chilli, shrimp pop corn, the dishes are expertly prepared and generously portioned. We particularly enjoyed the jumbo wings which was full of flavor.
One thing to keep in mind is that the wait can be a bit long, especially during peak season. But trust us, it’s worth it! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, happy to answer questions and make recommendations. And when your drinks and food finally arrive, you’ll be glad you waited.
Overall, Skagway Brewing Company is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good beer, great food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. If you’re in Skagway, be sure to stop by and sample some of their tasty brews and bites. You won’t be disappointed! “

I was really disappointed with my visit. The chowder was so overloaded with potatoes that my spoon could literally stand upright in the bowl — it was more like mashed potatoes than chowder. Our server was very slow and lacked any warmth or enthusiasm, which made the experience even less enjoyable. To top it off, he brought us a beer flyer that was dirty, with beer spilled all over the inside of the glass holders. For a brewery, I expected much better food quality, service, and cleanliness. Definitely not an experience I’d recommend.

Great place to grab a bite. Busy as usual but they got our party of 10 in downstairs in less than 10 minutes. Food choices were many and my fish and chips were excellent! Root beer in frosty mugs and you are set. Even with a power outtage in town and restaurant, they came through with great service and we didn’t have to wait long for our food either which is a plus when you are coming off a cruise ship and your time is limited. Gotta go to this place when in Skagway!
