We visited Sister Soul Food Restaurant on Paramore and had one of the best home-style meals we’ve had in a long time! We ordered the smothered pork chop meal with cabbage, black-eyed peas, cornbread, potato salad, sweet potato buttermilk pie, and Oreo cheesecake—and everything was outstanding.
The food was packed with flavor—you could taste the love and soul in every bite. The black-eyed peas were loaded with meat, and the cabbage had just the right amount of seasoning and plenty of meat as well. The desserts were the perfect finishing touch—rich, sweet, and homemade perfection.
What impressed us even more was the hospitality. Everyone was pleasant and professional. When it started raining as we were leaving, a gentleman, who I believe was one of the owners, personally walked guests out to their cars with an umbrella for those who didn’t have one. It was a thoughtful and appreciated act of kindness.
We were very impressed and will definitely be back soon!

Three stars reflect my mixed experience. DoorDash lacked fish description and choices. Mac and cheese and yams impressed, but fish was overcooked, rice burnt. Calls went unanswered. High expectations from coworkers’ reviews led to disappointment.

It’s raining right now so I go on DoorDash and search something new. Found this restaurant I never had before. They showed up and handed me this heavy Togo plate and it smelled so good. I knew I had found me winner. Opened it up my eyes tears with Southern Joy. I tell you I am so excited about this plate and will definitely be ordering again. The fact that you put utensils in the bag too was true show class. So many places be too cheap to do that. Now how I’m gone eat my smothered pork chops, Mac n cheese, rice, green beans, cornbreaT, and Nana puddin with no tensils. Idk. But I’m grateful you put them in there. Thank you for coming into my life in this time of literal storm. Yes. Yes. Yes. Stay blessed. Yes. Plate gotta weigh about 5lbs. AGAIN I SAY BEST CHOICE I MADE TODAY.

Tasty soul food with really good portions. The dinner platters come with a main entree, rice, 2 sides, and cornbread. I eat a lot, and 2 dinner platters are enough for 3 heaping servings. My favorite platter that I’ve tried so far is the smothered chicken wings with Mac n cheese, potato salad, yellow rice with gravy.

I have been waiting to try this place for MONTHS and I finally made the 45 minute drive and it was WELL WORTH IT! The food is delicious, customer service was amazing 10/10 , they were very nice, patient and kind. There was a little bit of a line that was constant but it moves quickly and smoothly. I tried the fried chicken, yams, collard greens, cabbage, turkey wing and gravy, mashed potatoes and the beef boudin ball which was . I will be back REAL SOON ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Food was spicy hot. Could not eat it without following food with a lot of water. Due to the food being so spicy ,it’s difficult to say if the food was good or not. I ordered the shrimp and collard greens and my daughter got the honey chicken which turned out to be chicken wings. One of her sides was supposed to be Mac and cheese but she ended up with rice. But she could not eat her collard greens either and she is used to spicy foods.

First time trying them and I enjoyed everything. I had place an order on DoorDash since it recommended it and with me being from the Deep South country I was immediately drawn into their menu selection. Prior towards placing my order I gave the restaurant a call directly and spoke with one of the team members asking for their recommendation and I was so glad that I did especially with the level of customer service and satisfaction that was greatly presented. I ended up getting the fish, shrimp and wings dinner and enjoyed every crumb. I just recently moved to the area and look forward to ordering and dining with them on the regular. Thanks again, you definitely earned a new loyal customer for sure!
