Really cool vibes and good chinese food. Our service was a sweet heart — i wish we got her name. One of the coolest bar atmospheres i’ve been to in Sacramento

Ordered takeout here again after a while because the last time I ordered the food lacked flavor. This time after several months I decided to order again: pineapple chicken and chow mein. The chicken was rubbery either frozen or really old I’m not sure. It had only a little bit of sauce drizzled on top of it they didn’t even bother to coat it properly and spread it across the chicken. Definitely not Chinese food especially in terms of flavor. The inside of the egg rolls was just drenched in oil and for some reason they were sweet not savory. Typical midtown place. For the food being so overpriced at least have the decency to use fresh meat and prepare it properly. I gave it a second chance. Won’t be back again. Claims to be ethnic food but is typical American swill. The bartenders were kind but that’s about the only good thing about the place. It has a damp gloomy dive bar atmosphere where white folks can sit and drink and buy overpriced and below average “Chinese” food.

The staff are all really friendly. The owner was actually the one to seat me. I came on a Friday for lunch time. They have a separate lunch menu with a few good deals. I got one of the combos–honey walnut shrimp with fried rice and chow mein (comes with the entree). It was definitely not small on size. I often had a craving for soup, so I got a “smaller” soup, but it was definitely decent sized. I took home leftovers. They state on their menu that they don’t have MSG in their dishes. They had a couple of TV’s (I think they had sports on) and they had some sort of rock music playing in the background. Good stuff. There were a few people sitting at the bar. They were either regulars or they had really good rapport with the staff. Overall a nice visit for lunch.

At my booth, I was greeted with Chinese food, rum and coke, and a rock rendition of “I want it that way” by the Backstreet Boys in an otherwise quiet, unsassuming place in Midtown. Flamboyant? Yes. Epic? Hell yeah. The drinks are not watered down and are made well. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. This place far exceeded my expecations- Simon’s is a delight of an experience.

Ever since I got introduced into this spot, I felt like family…. Love a bar I feel like I’m visiting my old family and friends…… Been there on my worst days tryna drink my problems away and left with hope and motivation like I was talking to a loved one. You don’t get to many bars where you feel loved and appreciated. Far beyond customer service and because of that, they got a customer and friend/family for life. I’ve seen customers try and pull the race card because they feel obligated and feel important because they wear a suit and tie or are in the military and I look hood (I like to call it ghetto sophisticated) cuz I tip more then them…… But coming from a respectful and well respected northern Mexican American I love and will keep supporting family owned businesses that make me feel like family no matter their race. Sincerely, your friend/family for life Emilio.

Service was super fast and the salt and pepper tofu was really really good, but everything else was pretty average

The fried chicken is one of the best and definitely a favorite. The staff are nice and pleasant and always welcoming. All the other dishes I have tried are good Chinese dishes, a testament to my eating there once week. The bar staff know how to make a drink, not skimpy. Late night is a lively fun place to hang.
