Pad Thai was ok, the portion size was good! We ordered Red curry with duck because it wasn’t something you see on every Thai menu. It was good – simply red curry + duck. I recommend this one over Pad Thai.

Very authentic Thai food offerings. The Wonton soups was amazing. The Shrimp with fried rice was very good. It included a salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, onion and carrots. Very fresh! The salad came with unique and very flavorful ginger dressing. I ordered an Arnold Palmer (tea and lemonade) that was robust with flavor. The staff acted like family and really made an extra effort. This is a great restaurant. When I visit Charlottesville again, I am definitely returning to this wonderful place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Silk Thai- friendly server and yummy food with generous portions… leftovers for dinner tomorrow! We ordered spring rolls, Pad Thai with pork (large slices of tender pork) and Pineapple Fried Rice, which had shrimp & chicken (note: I forgot to take photos before we started eating & sharing, but I took a couple anyway) Moscow Mule with fresh lime juice also refreshing (and same price as a glass of wine- so why not?!)

My primary meal was chef’s fried rice with chicken. Unfortunately, the rice was mushy…as if someone had mixed it too much with a spoon instead of fluffing it with a fork. Also, there were only 2 tomatoes (you can see them in the picture). So that ruined the dish for me, but the chicken in the dish was good. My older son had Massaman curry – comes with rice, and he got chicken. He said it was really good. The chicken was one whole piece, though (he thought it was going to be chopped up in the curry). My younger son had the chicken yellow curry, and like his brother, he really liked his dish too – gave it a 9.5 out of 10. Again, though, the chicken was a whole piece, not chopped up in the curry. My husband had chicken pad thai and said it was really good. So 3 out of 4 people enjoyed their meals. For appetizers, we shared chicken and shrimp dumplings, and shrimp rolls. While they looked beautiful and scrumptious, we didn’t like the dumplings; didn’t taste any shrimp. Kind of just tasted like mush inside dough (looks like dark minced mush in the picture), but we were expecting to actually be able to see chicken and shrimp inside the dumplings. On the other hand, while the shrimp rolls also weren’t what we expected, they were good, especially dipped in the sauce that came with them. As you can see in the pictures, they’re just wrapped in rice paper. We were expecting something that looked like an egg roll, but have shrimp and veggies inside. I would try this restaurant again, but get shrimp massaman curry instead!!!

So I’ve eaten in once and ordered to go three times. The Chicken Satay was very good. Tender chicken marinated well. Great taste and sauce to go with it. But I will never again order and other dish with chicken. It was tasteless dry and hard and chewy. That was experienced in the Penang curry, the pad Thai, and the soup. To owners….Either due to cooking method or the quality of the chicken it’s a big miss! You really really need to marinate the chicken you put in other dishes. Also too little coconut in the panang, but particularly the soup. Rice is ok but nothing special. I would absolutely recommend Chicken satay and potstickers, pad Thai and Penang.
Just not with Chicken. Service is top notch and atmosphere is peaceful and pleasing.

Server was super friendly and enjoy the location. The red curry was a little bland and could have used more spice.

We have been waiting for silk Thai to reopen after the years long closure and remodel. And they are even better than we remember. Best pad Thai I’ve ever had. So good I ate half before I remembered to take a photo.

The lunch menu is back! Soup and potstickers are very good apps.

Also tried something new for me at Silk Thai. The Kao Soi Gai was so good it might be a new favorite. This will make the future decision very difficult.

We ate here for the first time sharing lunch with friends. The friendly staff and the clean environment was the first impression. What sealed the deal was all the food. It was delicious with rich flavors and very large portions. We will be back. Tom Kha Soup, cashew chicken

Overall food was great, waiter confronted us and kept demanding and arguing for more than 18% tip . Very surprising.
