Chengdu sits at the western edge of China’s Sichuan basin. The fertile Chengdu Plain, on which the city is located, is also known as the “Country of Heaven”, a phrase often translated as “The Land of Abundance”, for it has always been blessed with a wealth of natural resources and agricultural products. As the provincial capital, Chengdu brings together the impressive regional culinary delicacies of Sichuan, and is even officially recognized as the “City of Gastronomy” by the United Nations. The nickname “Jin-Cheng” (or “City of Brocade”) for Chengdu dates back to the Three Kingdoms era. “When dawn comes, we will see splashes of red flowers with drops of dew blossoming all over Jin-Cheng.” This was how Du Fu, a prominent poet from the Tan

This is a must try restaurant! They offer many dishes, family style! Every dish is layered in so many different flavors and many dishes offer a amount of spice. You can also request no spice on many items, but I love the spice!

-Wonton in Chili Oil
-Stir-Fried Angus Ribeye with Scallions
-Tea Smoked Pork Rib
-Grandma’s Pickled Cucumber

Everything is exceptional and would recommend any of the above. They also have so many other options!

They currently have a special menu for dine LA that is being offered till February 6, 2026

There’s plenty of parking in the parking lot. It is a beautiful restaurant inside and out. They also offer many private dining spaces inside. The staff were friendly and helpful!

Probably the best Sichuan food I’ve EVER HAD.

Sichuan Impression left a lasting impression on the for several reasons. The moment you step in you are invited with a modern yet elegant dining area with full bar, QR code, menus, and friendly staff creating you right at the door.

But of course, the food is something that I simply cannot get over .
We dined on the dine LA set menu various options for five dishes, along with optional upgrades of peking duck, flaming pork jaw, and mochi taro rice dessert!

The boiled fish with pickled veg was the most impressive bite I’ve had in a long time, their use of numbing and spicy peppercorns and chilies made this an addicting and welcoming warmth of flavor that I have never experienced before in my life.

Sichuan Impression is one of the most authentic Sichuan restaurants I’ve tried. The flavors are bold and well-balanced — perfectly numbing and spicy without being overwhelming. Every dish tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, especially the classic Sichuan staples.

The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, making it a great spot for both group dinners and casual meals. Service was efficient and friendly, and the food came out quickly even when it was busy.

If you’re looking for real Sichuan flavors rather than Americanized versions, Sichuan Impression is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be coming back to try more dishes.

It’s clear that Sichuan Impression really cares about their food.Every dish was a solid 9/10.
The chicken soup rice with the small mushrooms was incredibly flavorful, and the Qiao Jiao beef soup was outstanding.
The soups here are seriously good. I’ll be back for sure.

Came here to celebrate my best friend’s birthday — great choice!
I’ve seen this place “Mu Jiang Zi” all over social media and finally tried it.

We ordered a few new dishes, and everything was surprisingly good.
The Matsusaka pork (snowflake pork neck) was super juicy and tender with a nice crispy bite.
They even light it up with a small flame — very fun presentation!
Loved the plum-pickled cherry tomatoes, sweet and tangy, super refreshing.
The braised duck was the highlight — crispy outside, tender and flavorful inside, and the portion was generous.
Beef tongue stew was soft and tasty, just a bit small.
The meat tofu soup had a rich mushroom broth, warm and comforting.

The restaurant is founded by a team of Chengdu–Chongqing girls — many dishes are their own creations and even got a Michelin recommendation.
Cozy space, clean, and beautifully plated food.
Perfect for small celebrations or dinner with friends.

finally checked out Sichuan Impression, and it honestly lived up to the hype. If you’re into authentic heat that actually has depth (and isn’t just “burn your mouth” spicy), this is the spot.
What we ordered:
• The Sea Bass: Probably the best thing we had. The fish was super flaky, and that soybean sauce is so savory I wanted to pour it over everything.
• Tea-Smoked Duck: The skin was perfectly crispy. Definitely dip it in the dry chili powder on the side—it adds that signature numbing kick.
• Eggplant with Charred Chili: This sounded simple but was a total sleeper hit. It’s cold, silky, and has a really unique smoky flavor.
• Tofu & Greens Soup: We got this to cool down, and it was the perfect “reset” for the palate.
The vibe is modern and clean, and the service was quick. It’s definitely a step up from your average Sichuan joint. I’ll be back for sure.

I love this restaurant, we ordered the duck, the toothpick lamb, fried intestines, the stir fried kidney, string beans and the pickled fish vermicelli soup. My favorite was the the intestine and the toothpick lamb. It’s a numbing kind of spicy and it’s like the perfect amount of spice. I highly recommend the string beans it’s not spicy but it helps cut the spice a little. The duck wasn’t too fatty and oily which I liked. Highly recommend this place I believe their Tustin location is Michelin rated so I like how this place also has great cocktails. The service was great and very attentive. The ambiance is nice and modern and clean.

The 11th Anniversary Set Menu at Sichuan Impression is absolutely amazing! It comes with five full dishes — from appetizers to mains — easily enough for three people. The Mushroom Chicken Soup and Rice is unbelievably flavorful, and the Boiled Fish with Rattan Pepper has huge, tender chunks of fish. Even the cold noodles, which looked ordinary, disappeared in seconds!

They have several anniversary set options, and you can check out the menu that our server kindly showed us. We also tried a new dish — Flaming Pork Jowl. The waiter shaved the aromatic root and flambéed the pork right at the table — total fine dining vibes and full of emotional satisfaction!

And of course, their famous Signature Tea Smoked Duck is still as delicious as ever. You really have to admire how consistent this classic Sichuan restaurant stays, even with such a big anniversary discount.

The anniversary menu is available from Nov 1 to Nov 11, so LA foodies, hurry up before it’s gone!

Guys, I found the ultimate foodie hack in LA! You can literally get a Michelin-rated meal for under $20 a head—I bet you can’t find a better deal in the city.

The four of us left absolutely stuffed. We even grabbed some drinks at the end just to sit back and soak in the vibes.

Here’s the tea on what we ordered: Spicy Crab (My #1!): As a total seafood lover, this was 10/10. It’s so flavorful, and the heat is perfectly balanced so it doesn’t mask the sweetness of the crab. The meat was incredibly tender! Sliced Beef in Chili Sauce (Fu Qi Fei Pian): The chili oil looks like literal art. They add celery leaves which gives it that authentic Chengdu freshness and amazing depth. Szechuan Cold Noodles: Every strand is perfectly coated. It’s that addictive mix of sour, sweet, and numbing spice. One bite and you’re hooked! Purple Rice Mochi Taro: You have to save room for this new dessert. It’s so chewy and soft—the perfect way to cool down after the spice.
