What a fantastic find!
I just happened to be leaving a meeting and it saw this cute little restaurant tucked between some homes.
Food was amazing! The atmosphere reminded me of a warm little mom and pop shop in NYC.
Go!❤️

Had a beautiful dinner here with two girl friends. The food is stunning and so delicious. It’s really intimate and comfortable, and the service was great. The owner was in and helped us himself, which was a delight. Did I mention how good the food is! Looking forward to going back

We ran in for an early dinner based on reviews, and this meal was incredible!
Super bold flavors, absolutely delicious drinks, blue jasmine lemondaid, cocnut camrel Thai iced tea, were both amazing! The dumplings were so loaded with with flavor, eat the lettuce with the dumpling, chefs advise- it was a stunning difference in my opinion! Then we had a salad to share again full of flavor, spicy, different textures, and a well welcomed combo that led to very little conversation, and lots of yummy noises. Finally we finished with the duck, cooked perfectly mild game flavor, outside had such a great season combo that paired perfectly with the red wine sauce they used, great balance. All 3 dishes together for the 2 of us, we were so very satisfied! Thank you so much!! We will be back to try the rest!

Superior friendly service and superior food. We were a party of five celebrating an adult birthday. After wonderful Hors d’oeuvres and main dishes they served up the birthday cake that we brought with us. We all loved our choices and look forward to our next visit.

Second time to Siam Umami and it one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. Food is not the typical Thai dishes we see in most Thai restaurants. Don’t go here if you are looking for pad Thai, stir fries and other noodle dishes. Instead, this is a creative application of Thai influences on some traditionally non-Thai recipes. This time, I had a beef Wellington in a red curry sauce. It was excellent and very reasonably priced given the quality of the ingredients.
Regrettably, the signage on the restaurant is very subtle. I’m sure people drive by it every day as I have for years without noticing the restaurant. So glad, we stumbled onto it.
Good food, good people. Highly recommend.

My god is the place good. Drinks were incredible. Every dish is so packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The yum som salad was probably the best “salad” I’ve had all year so good we demolished it before we could even get a picture. I highly highly recommend this spot.
Edit 12/18/24: Came back here recently and was a bit disappointed. The serving sizes were noticeably smaller, service was not as good (not sure if it was a new server or what), and after over $150 for a party of 4 we left hungry. Flavors were still very good but the price to food ratio felt off to me.

Beef Wellington Massaman Curry special was delicious, and I enjoyed my appetizer and dessert as well. Appreciated the stripped down (but unique) nature of the menu compared to other Thai restaurants. Surprisingly strong cocktail game; the Thai Basil Gimlet was great. Attentive service; felt very taken care of. Will definitely be back!

Oh my gosh!!! We cannot say enough good things about this place. Best meal I’ve had in the entire PNW. The service was the icing on the cake absolutely spectacular. Very attentive to detail, and literal flavor bombs going off from the first bite to the last. This place should have months long waiting list with how great it is. I never write reviews but I had to after this experience.

Skip Langbaan and come here instead! Very well regarded in the Thai restaurateur community, this talented chef is serving up delicious bites in every dish. This isn’t your typical pad Thai place (not that there’s anything wrong with that), this is the kind of food that could be considered fine dining in Thailand, offering familiar flavors in an elevated format. People that know how hard it is to find this kind of Thai food, done this well, will go out of their way to visit. Don’t skimp on their delicious appetizers (especially the chor muang and chor chaba). If we had to pick other favorites it would be the yum som (salad) and the duck curry and salmon entrees, as well as the taro brule dessert. Excellent cocktails as well.

Wow! So good. Maybe the best shu mai I’ve ever had. The citrus shrimp salad was fabulous. Hubby had the chicken main course and I had the vegan option. Both very tasty and they aren’t afraid of spice. Definitely recommend!
