It all began in 1993, when two local boys in Gulf Shores, Alabama decided to open up a casual family-focused seafood restaurant on the Gulf Coast. The idea was to create a restaurant where people would feel welcome to be themselves, families could afford to dine out together and strangers would leave as friends. Coastal vacationers demanded that Shrimp Basket expand to provide this incredible seafood value to those unable to be at the beach year round. Today, we’re happy to offer locations across the Southeast for family and friends to feel a part of the beach, dine and enjoy delicious seafood! At the Shrimp Basket, our goal is to make sure that you – our friends – leave happy and satisfied after every visit.

Cowboy burger was great! I was there during happy hour so I had fried pickles for appetizer and 2 cold bottle beers! The staff was only 2 people- server and cook but our waitress was so sweet and never stopped smiling!

Ordered shrimp and fries, both tastes weird, small portions for a 15 dollar meal
My date ordered a sprite, it tasted like watered out tv static, I tried it
She got seafood gumbo, there wasn’t any seafood in it, just some small pieces of meat? We couldn’t identify what kind because it was like 4-5 small pieces, tasted very bland we barely ate any of it.
Service was pretty much non existent, the server car by 3 times max. Had to remind them to bring our utensils, there was no communication whatsoever. Not to say the least the booth we were sat in was absolutely filthy, the table was sticky and greasy, the seats were dirty with food crumbs from previous visitors.
First and last time I go to this location or maybe even any of them this was the first shrimp basket I’ve been to. Yikes!

The food is amazing, the staff super friendly, and the atmosphere is great. Kylie and Noel are exceptional. We eat here almost everyday, and the consistency of the service and quality of food is what keeps bringing us back!

Mixed bag but worth dropping in.
First, the food. Always fresh. Shrimp is good. Tacos still a family favorite. The white fried fish is delicious. Coconut shrimp was a little off this go round with a strange side flavor. Corn fritter was great. Crab cake a bit wet/mushy. Fries perfect. Like I said, mixed bag.
That said, would revisit.
Hey Shrimp Basket Corporate – why don’t you have hush puppies on the menu as an appetizer or side dish? They come with a lot of dishes but aren’t officially on the menu.

I usually come here expecting a good meal and a relaxing time, but this visit was an absolute disaster.
My waitress — I think her name was “K” or “Kay” — spent half the time trauma dumping her personal life and finances on me. I can empathize with people, but not when I’m just trying to enjoy a meal. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional.
After that, I sat waiting 25 minutes for what should’ve been a simple basket of shrimp. When the food finally arrived, it was cold, overcooked, and came with the wrong sides. Completely unacceptable, especially since this has never been an issue here before.
To make matters worse, when I asked to speak to the GM or a manager, “K” came back and said he was “too busy cooking” to come to the table. Really? Too busy to address a paying customer with a legitimate complaint? That’s not just bad service, that’s a failure of leadership.
Final verdict: you lost a regular. I won’t be coming back, and I’ll be letting others know this place isn’t what it used to be.

Small seafood restaurant. Flounder is double fileted. Small pieces, very thin and overcooked. Shrimp was good, both fried and grilled. Waiters don’t write down orders and mistakes were made, as I ordered a salad with shrimp and got chicken instead. They were quick to fix it and did discount the salad. Fried foods were overcooked and almost burnt.

I ordered food online for pickup. It took an additional 30 minutes past when it said it was ready. One of the staff members kept trying to lock the doors 30 mins before close while I was waiting for my food, even making the comment “I was going to lock the door but she is still here”. Like yeah I’m still here waiting for my food. After we got it to the car, the food was cold. The only thing that was hot was the grits. Started eating and the shrimp tasted strange. I had my husband try it and he spit it back out and told me not to eat that. Fast forward 20ish minutes after we finished eating, I am now throwing up. My husband feels sick. Needless to say our first time eating there is also our last time eating there.
