Shorty’s Tap x Taco is a laid-back spot with an old school vibe. At Shorty’s Tap x Taco — retro games, such as darts, shuffleboard, giant connect four, foosball and pinball, are mixed with more modern elements, like a vintage style but ‘social ready’ photo booth, a digital train station split-flap sign of a busy schedule of “arriving and departing” beer selections and house made craft-draft cocktails, PLUS an epic 1970’s basement inspired karaoke room. Our open kitchen turns out scrumptious Latin street treats like Birria, Charred Steak & Cola Carnitas Tacos. Outside, our camp-style fire pits are the perfect place to kick back and cozy up. The atmosphere was really cool. The different games available like jumbo Connect Four and digital darts were fun. The outside patio with the lounge chairs and mini fire pits were nice. But the food was subpar. I had a steak taco and a rotisserie chicken taco and after I was finished I told my sister “It felt like I just ate air”. They were just meh. The chicken wings were ok and so was the guacamole but neither are anything that I’m ever gonna crave to the point that I’m ever going to go back here for. I was told the food wasn’t that great beforehand but still gave it a chance. Atmosphere: 4 Food: 1

Waited for a hostess for about 10 minutes before I decided just to sit at the bar. Sat down, got served a beer and a food menu immediately- cool! Then waited over 20 minutes for the bartender to stop drinking so I could get his attention because he clearly wasn’t intending on allowing me to get food. Never got offered another drink, tacos were… okay at best. Crème brûlée was actually pretty good, which was the only redeeming part of the whole hour and a half I spent trying to get and eat two tacos. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Good atmosphere, if you like a combination of the Pittsburgh Science Center with a bar. Food was fine and staff was fine. No complaints. You can’t really ask for much more these days after COVID. One small comment. Should a “taco” salad come with meat, not as an up sell add-on? Right? PS: Whatever you do, do not sit at the bar next to the connect O-Matic game…sooooo annoying!!!

This was our first time here. The atmosphere was cool. The staff was nice. Our waiter was Jenn, She was very pleasant. My husband and I had honey barbecue wings with queso and chips, which was delicious. I had a drink. I forgot the name of it, but it had a lime, ginger and Agava in it something different was good. My husband had the chicken salad, I had the fish tacos and a chicken one too which was delicious. We also had a Wildberry alcohol beverage that had like 5% alcohol. It was OK that dessert. My husband had the chocolate cream Brulé and I had the cinnamon balls delicious!. Will be definitely going back.

We really enjoyed this place. Food and drinks were good. The wings were really good and not like any wings we’ve ever had before. we had fun playing the games and enjoyed the fact that the place is family friendly so we could play darts with our daughter. So happy this opened in the Waterfront!

Food was great but over priced. Service was also pretty good for a taco spot. They have games but it is kind of misleading cause they tell you they are free when a bunch of stuff isn’t. Or I couldn’t even find what they were talking about video game room etc. They do offer a happy hour half off prices might check that out. But I also work in the industry and this spot won’t last here doing 7$ tacos it’s just simply not the area for it.

Great place! Food was excellent, especially the nachos. Drinks from John the bartender were delicious. Will definitely be returning. Didn’t appreciate the waitress who clicked on the 25% tip box before handing me the payment machine, but I get it. Times are tough. All in all, great atmosphere, drinks, and food. Location on the waterfront is terrific.

It took 10 minutes to be seated (party of 4). The menu is VERY small and VERY overpriced. It took another 20 minutes until our waitress came to take our drink order. We ordered the box nachos while she was there. The nachos were okay. Our waitress didn’t come back for another 20 – 30 minutes. By the time she came back we decided to get our bill and go somewhere else. Our bill seemed high for only 4 drinks and the nachos. Using the menu we added it up, plus tax. It seemed $20 higher than it should have been. We asked for a receipt. We never got it, we left. I don’t have a desire to return.

We’ve tried a lot of the food, which was OK, but the quesadillas are fire. Best I’ve ever had. I’ve been here 4 times, and 3 out of the 4, the service wasn’t great. It would take forever to get the servers to come back. I’ve had to go to the bar to get a drink. The most recent service was great.
