This used to be a good place. It still has 2 great chefs/cooks, but unfortunately we had a new one who has been working there for a week. How do you assign a new cook for a party of 15 people? He was quiet, had no energy and did not do what other usually do. He just cooked and left. He took a while and even the vegetables were raw. He even said he kinda not liked the job but “it was a job”. Staff also pressures you to eat fast and leave. As soon as they served the food we got to go boxes and the check. We understand it gets busy but that’s the way it is. Will take a long break from this place. Avoid this place for parties larger than 8. The wait was too long and not worth it.

Food is delicious, staff is friendly, and service is good BUT I can’t get over how DIRTY this place is. The hibachi grills have thick grease stains, the menus are sticky and clearly haven’t been cleaned in who knows how long. Everything is noticeably dirty; the floors, walls, decor, windows, bathrooms, plates, silverware; everything. If it’s that dirty where customers can see I don’t even want to know what the kitchen looks like. They need to hire a crew to come in and deep clean everything. Unacceptable!

Really frustrated. I understand that food costs have increased their pricing, but $13 for a 5 tiny scallops is absolutely insane. I’m pretty sad/disappointed. We order with them pretty often, but this time was just incredibly overpriced for the entire order

Me and my family came in tonight to eat. When we checked in we told her we had 4 people and her response was “it will just be a few minutes.”

As a long time fan of this style of restaurant. The atmosphere has gone down hill, the place needs a major update on all the worn out dining surfaces and areas, a major deep clean, brighter lighting, paint etc. The hibachi chef was great the food was really good, the host staff was great, the server had a great attitude and seemed busy but didn’t inform the chef of a food allergy or birthday we had. The overall experience of the restaurant has declined and its disappointing. Whoever owns this place please clean, paint, train staff, and rekindle the japanese hibachi hospitality experience this restaurant used to be great at offering.

Went with my family today. Service was great while we were there but the longer we sat we noticed how unclean this place was. The plates had dried sauce on them. The table was sticky and still had food from the night before (we were their first customers) the grill had food on it and the vent a hood dropped oil in my husband’s soup and kept dripping beside the grill. The carpet looked as if it hadn’t been vacuumed in a long while. We ended up telling our server we were leaving due to uncleanness. Please clean your restaurant. It was so disappointing. My husband’s boots where sticking to the tile floor as we were walking out.

So, had a birthday there tonight for a good friend of mine, his family, and some other friends. We’d reserved a table for a party of 12 which turned into 10. They other couple I’d arranged the dinner with met me there ten minutes early so we could put a few balloons and gifts on the table before the others arrived. We asked the (very young, aloof) hostess if we could do so and were rudely told we couldn’t get near the table until our party arrived. I asked whether we had a table to ourselves (yes, we did) and whether anybody was at the table (no they weren’t). I asked why we couldn’t just leave the balloons at the table then wait in the lobby. She said (again rudely, aloof) that it wasn’t her it was the owners. I asked if she could ask the owners, she rolled her eyes and went to the back. I saw her on the phone while another waitress talked to her and looked at us, sort of laughing. The hostess came back up and started cleaning menus. I asked, “well..?” Barely looking up she told me, “they said no”. Anyway, we get led back to our table when the rest arrived. We waited about 20 minutes before actually getting drinks on the table. I personally ordered sushi, got sashimi. Waiter asked, when I ordered a Kirin, whether I wanted a “Kirin Mitsubishi”. Salad floated in. Literal pool of dressing. Chef, when he arrived, was personable, accommodating, and a good cook, so no complaints on the food this visit. Waiter came by two more times to refill sodas and clear a few bowls. There was a large storm and, midway through cooking our meals, the power went out completely. Chef continued to try to finish the meals but my steak was rare and chewy since the stove wasn’t as hot as it should’ve been. We ate in the dark, but it got so hot (stoves with no AC or vents) that I lost my appetite. To go boxes, along with the check, were shoved next to my plate in the dark and I just dumped the glob of food into it and paid. Bill after tip was almost $500 for 10. No thank you when check was dropped, or apology about the power/heat/lack of lighting… nothing. All the staff just hid in the front of the restaurant and waited for us to leave. I didn’t undertip (left 70 on 420), but I’m def voicing this experience here. I can’t believe a restaurant at this price point is so poorly managed, understaffed, undertrained, filthy, and, frankly, rude. I went there so our friend could get what he wanted, but I can’t help but share what it was like for a paying customer. BTW, leaving the parking lot I noticed that all surrounding businesses had power so it wasn’t a block-wide blackout, it was their poor infrastructure. No excuse whatsoever, especially when the staff chose to joke about it instead of offering some sort of apology. I’ll take this down if management cares to reach out to me directly.
