It’s a greasy spoon; however, service was excellent and food was good. Danielle our server was very pleasant and attentive. Ordering was not complicated and food arrived HOT! Great place for a quick bite. It’s a no frills spot so adjust your expectations accordingly. I would definitely visit again.

I love this place. It isn’t fancy, and the seats may be shabby, but the food is always consistent and reliably good. The staff is always friendly. Beware the crush on Sunday morning after church when the place is packed, but it’s worth the trip just to see the beautiful Sunday outfits and happy families. This is a family diner at its best.

I really enjoyed Shirley’s because the staff is very welcoming and friendly. Even the cook comes out into the dining area to see if everyone is enjoying the food. The staff help with the needs of all the customers even if it’s not their table to ensure that the needs are met in a timely manner.

For starters the parking lot isn’t really marked and you also have to walk to the opposite side of the restaurant to get inside(not a big deal I know but for a handicap person it might be). Next is the inside, it’s very dated, dusty light fixtures and window sills and carpet needs updating. Next the staff…the waitress we had was more interested in a guy who was picking up an order. She didn’t check if we had everything like the salt and pepper shakers made it to the table when we were close to being done. The chef would come out to be sure everything was ok. Now to the food I had the country omelette which in reality it was basically ham and not really chopped onions with a bit of egg. I didn’t have any hash browns or cheese which should have been in the omelette. My husband food wasn’t great either. His hash browns where mush when they finally brought them out. Lastly my plate was chipped which should never made out the kitchen. Basically go here at your own risk but my family will not be going back.

I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant and I have been coming for years. The owner works along side the staff. The staff are always friendly and remember your face if not your name too. Great for family outings. Small, cozy, warm environment.

What a great find – the picky observer might say this place is a bit worn, but I see charm. Shirley’s reminds me of IHOP without the corporate cold shoulder. It’s warm and friendly. The staff is like being served a meal by an indulging mother or grandmother. My server Karen was amazing. She was kind, attentive and cared about my experience. The service at Shirley’s was highlighted in nearly every review. I can see why. FOOD: I had a great 8oz sirloin with 1/2 pound of popcorn shrimp, large pile of broccoli, coleslaw, thick slice of garlic bread, and two coffees all for over 21 bucks. Price, service, and quality. It’s not fancy, but it’s what a pleasant restaurant experience should be – the sign says it all (see pic). Try it!

Food is good. Service is good. Restaurant is falling apart by the seams, though. I would have loved to give Shirley 5 stars, but good lord, I had to change booths 3 times, each time there is some defect in the seats. I finally gave up on trying to be comfortable. I am a young man too, so I can’t imagine how uncomfortable it is for the older folk.

Update: We went back for breakfast and the french toast was everything! We also ordered grits, a sunny side up egg and bacon and were very impressed with that.

Great food and great prices. Was a little stuffy inside bc it seemed no a/c was running. Seats were old and ripped, so you really sink down in the booth. Staff was great too tho!
