I tried Shimuja Ramen inside the Henry and Julia food hall, and overall it was just an okay experience. This spot used to be better shortly after opening, but the food hall feels pretty dead now and honestly, that doesn’t come as a surprise.
The prices are excessively high for what you get. Quality is alright but nothing standout, and portions are on the smaller side, which makes the value feel even more off.
It’s not terrible, but it’s also not somewhere I’d go out of my way for anymore. Next time I’m in the mood for ramen, I’ll likely consider other options nearby.

I have been here a few times over the years and the quality of food is very consistent and very tasty. We ordered the classic Tonkatsu Ramen – I really like the broth because it’s rich, and a good balance of salt and sweet flavours, the pork is crispy, the egg is also soft boiled and altogether just makes the dish very, very tasty.

This was amazing shoyu ramen! Everything was perfect from the egg, the pork, the noodles, the broth. It was ready in just minutes. And it was a very healthy amount without being too much. It’s located in the food hall so plenty of places to sit down and enjoy!

I used to avoid going downtown for good food because it can be hit-or-miss, not to mention sketchy and dirty, but they’ve really gentrified this building, and the food court is much more like a “city market,” which we had in Indianapolis. There is a well-priced bar, a key lime pie vending machine (no joke!), a soon-to-exist craft beer bar, and this excellent ramen shop. If I worked downtown, I’d definitely swing by this food court once a week, and Shimuja in particular offered up a stellar pork bone ramen with really good quality pork meat (not always the case, even in good ramen shops). I can’t post photos since Google’s servers are down, but I’m sure others have posted.

Probably the best ramen in Miami, delicious and flavorful. The broth is very tasty, and pork is seasoned very well. Service is super fast. The place is located in Julia and Henry on the 3rd floor. They have a few tables by their stand.

I had the spicy Kagoshima Ramen and it wasn’t spicy at all. The soup itself was delicious but was hoping it would’ve lived up to the name.
Ambiance was cool. Awesome music playing for some entertainment. Lots of different venues to choose from for different palettes. Rices were reasonable. We went during a Monday night at 8pm so it wasn’t too crowded. Seatings are at a premium if you’re going during peak hours.
Cleanliness was good. Overall it’s a good food court to check out when you’re in Miami.

its a small spot in the food court. there were only two people working, so we had to wait for a while. The broth for the tonkatsu ramen was good. I added the spicy miso paste which made the broth even thicker and slightly fishy taste. ramen was not thin noodle but it wad good. I would wanna try the original branch if I get a chance.

Customer service absolutely sucks here. You would think a place that’s empty would accommodate the regulars but not this place. They have a 9.50 lunch special for a pork Ramen. I typically order this without the meat but still pay full price because it’s not a problem. I asked the gentlemen who ie always there if I can possibly have more scallions or veggies because I do t get it with meat and still pay full price. He says NO! I asked if I can pack to go HE SAYS NO. The special is to dine in (this is written no where in Julia Henry ) I advised him I see exactly why this place is always empty. They have horrrible customer service and don’t realize the location is there to cater to the offices. No one will go if they are not flexible , I know because my coworker warned me. So now I will pay $20 for a ramen somewhwre else in area because I know I will be spending my money with a respectful business who caters to customers spending their hard earned money.

The best ramen I had, the seasoning is great, and staff is super friendly. Everytime I visit Miami is my place to go. Big enough for two people and the price is not that bad for Miami.

This location was actually better than the Davie location. When I went to the Davie location the food was good but it was messy. The Miami location is much cleaner and you get to watch the process of them making the ramen. I met the owner and he was so nice. This is located on the second floor of the Julia and Henry Food Hall. Definitely worth checking out.
