Loved it! Wonderful presentation and amazing service. The food was VERY good and the lobster bisque was the best I have ever had. The shrimp, unfortunately, was overcooked.

This month’s special—lamb and scallops—was fantastic. A bit pricey but you do know the price going in, and I got two meals from it. It would make an easy split meal for two, especially if you have an appetizer. Service was excellent as always.

I went to Shearn’s for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. I had just discovered the restaurant on-line. I requested a table by the windows, and wow, what an incredible view. It’s gorgeous there. The ambiance is equally inviting. The hostess and all the servers were so welcoming and friendly. They made us all feel really special and gave us not just excellent food and drinks, but a wonderful and memorable experience.

Excellent service and the duck was fantastic. I had she crab soup to start and it was full of tender crab meat. We finished with the opera cake and it was so good my wife is trying to replicate it at home! We will definitely be back!

I can’t recommend the September specials enough! The grouper was cooked perfectly, and the mix of flavors is delightful. We also enjoyed the cream of kale soup. Thank goodness I saved room for the apple pie bread pudding as well. The culinary team is brilliant!

The lobster bisque was some of the best my wife and I have ever had with plenty of lobster, the prosciutto scallops were the best and biggest scallops I’ve ever seen, the crab cakes were good but had a lot of breading, and the lobster Mac and cheese was okay. The service was phenomenal and the sunset was gorgeous. They got us right in without a reservation and were very respectful. The waiter Donavan had phenomenal recommendations. We will definitely be back again when in Galveston

From the moment we exited the elevator we knew that we were going to enjoy our night. The staff was attentive. Our meals were delicious. The cake was average but the whipped cream and fruit were fresh. A decadent evening for sure.

Shearn’s has been and will continue to be one of our very favorite ‘fine-dining’ restaurants anywhere we have ever been. We stayed at the Hotel Saturday night & made advance reservations for dinner that evening. We started out with cocktails in the Lounge & Logan was wonderful. At dinner we were seated by the window – greet table & Damien was our server. We could not have been more pleased – great service & recommendations! I had the Escargot & my husband had their French Onion Soup for starters. He then had their Blue Cheese Wedge salad & I had to get their Caesar Salad (always the best). For our entrees – he ordered the 16-oz NY Strip & as always I had their Petit Filet with their amazing Peppercorn sauce. Over the years we have learned you must order your Soufflé beforehand, as it takes 45-minutes to prepare…we each had the Soufflé Grand Marnier…spectacular! We also enjoyed a glass of their Port Wine with our dessert. We wish there were comparable restaurants in Houston, but not any longer…so we will continue to come down for a treat whenever the urge hits. Thank you for a beautiful & tasty evening!

This place is Horrible!!!! The view is amazing, the presentation is amazing. But the food is not all that! For the price that we pay for, the quality of the food that they gave us did not match our expectations! They served my Husband, my eldest and my youngest a watered-down drink! Me, my husband, my parents French Onion Soup are Burned! We told them and gave us the option to pick another appetizers and that one was not good also and not hot at all, don’t have any flavor. And The worst part was. At 2am my middles son woke up from stomach pain and started throwing up. As the hours goes by, my husband started throwing up and then my youngest son. They gave my whole family food poison!!! And they are still not ok as I’m writing this review. I have a whole family that’s food poison right now. They never told us also that there is a dress code until we called and asked ourselves like an hr before we came. Do not come to this restaurant. And owww pls don’t make me start talking about the dessert, it looks pretty but it was a joke! Walmart cake tasted better that those so called ” high-end ” dessert.

Overall not impressed, but there were a few highlights. Appetizers were really good and the Cesar salad was one of the best I have ever had. The lobster bisque is one of their most acclaimed items on the menu, and rightfully so because it was phenomenal!…unfortunately that is pretty much where it ended. There were four of us at the table so we ordered four separate items with intentions of sharing (22oz dry aged strip, prime ribeye, stuffed redfish, & lamb loin chops). The fish and lamb arrived first, followed by both steaks roughly 5 minutes later. The stuffed redfish was tasty, but I could tell it had been sitting for a while before being brought to the table, the lamb was cooked and seasoned nicely, again… unfortunately that is about all I can say about the entrees because both steaks were severely overcooked. We ordered both steaks medium rare but they both came out medium well/well done. Our waiter was very understanding and took them back assuring us he would have the kitchen cook 2 new steaks for us. After another 20 minute wait the new steaks were finally brought out. The 22oz strip was cooked to temp, but they missed the mark again on the ribeye. At that point we all became a little irritated with the situation and just asked that the ribeye be taken off the bill and proceeded to share the 22oz strip, which was mediocre at best. When it came time for dessert we were all ready to just throw in the towel, but since it was my birthday I was offered a dessert on the house, for which I chose the New York style cheesecake w/strawberry drizzle on top because it looked amazing!!! Unfortunately looks did not translate into taste! It was literally one of the worst pieces of cheesecake I have ever eaten. I seriously doubt it was made in-house and there was some type of waxy coating on it. I think the waiter may have taken me too seriously when I pointed to the cheesecake and said “I want that right there”; I’m thinking he may have actually given me the piece that was on display! To satisfy the sweet tooth that I had developed I orderd a Brandy Alexander, which they make with ice cream, and it was pretty damn good! Overall I gave this place a 2 star rating because the staff was very friendly and the appetizers, soup, salad, and dessert drink were very good. However, that is not what brought us to Shearn’s restaurant. We went there expecting exactly what is in the name “prime” steaks and seafood. Instead we got “prime” starters and mediocre entrees! Given other reviews of this place, I hope this was an anomaly, but with the number of empty tables we saw last night, it seems to me this could be more of a trend than a one-time occurrence!
