We stopped into O’Donnell’s Irish Pub expecting a typical pub meal, but it ended up being way better than expected.
The Irish poutine completely surprised me and was easily my favorite thing we ordered. Crispy fries loaded with cheese curds, bacon, and gravy basically the definition of comfort food. The Reuben egg rolls are a must-order and something I’d go back for alone. We also tried the Guinness beef stew, which was rich, hearty, and perfect for a cozy pub meal.
The fish & chips were crispy and fresh, and the shepherd’s pie was exactly what you want from an Irish pub. Even my husband, who usually skips dessert, ended up loving the Irish bread pudding, which says a lot.
What really stood out though was the atmosphere. The place was lively but still family-friendly, and when the live Irish music started it gave the whole restaurant a fun, energetic vibe.
If you’re looking for a solid Irish pub in Spokane with comforting food and a great atmosphere, O’Donnell’s is definitely worth checking out.

Shawn O’Donnell’s is so reliable. The food is always great, service is always kind, and overall I always enjoy my visits here. I like dropping in for a happy hour drink (they have Magners, an Irish hard cider which is really tough to find!!) or a full meal, it’s honestly good for any occasion. The fire pits on the patio are such a vibe on a chilly night.

When I worked in Spokane, there was an O’Donnell’s across the street from my office so I was a frequent visitor to the pub…you might even say I was a regular. In fact, there was a long running bit that I put on a vest and help when it got busy. Now living in Seattle, I made my first visit to the Fremont restaurant this week, taking advantage of my birthday loyalty club benefits. It was a chilly day in Seattle, so I ordered the Guinness Beef Stew, with a side of soda bread. The stew with big chucks of tender beef and vegetables was delicious, as was the bread! The stew comes topped with a scoop of mashed potatoes. It was a perfect meal for a gray cloudy day. The Service was fantastic!

I had a Sheppard’s pie which was so delicious and felt like a home cooked comfort meal, the fries were also so good! We went on a Thursday and they had live music which made such an amazing atmosphere. The service was great and the employees we chatted with were all friendly and helpful

Unintentionally went here on Ash Wednesday and there were a lot of people playing Irish-style music with fiddles(?), bagpipes, and even some singing. Not sure how regularly that happens there, but it was quite nice and really added to the atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was also delicious and our waitress was super friendly and accommodating.

Shawn O’Donnell’s catering was outstanding! The food was fresh, flavorful, and came in generous portions—an Irish favorite that guests loved. Chad at the Fremont location arrived right on time, set everything up beautifully, and was professional, dependable, and very accommodating. Communication was excellent throughout, and they even handled our last-minute needs with ease. The service was fairly priced, and it was refreshing to get through to a real person so easily. Their exceptional service went above and beyond, exceeded expectations, and made everything run seamlessly. Huge thanks to Chad and the whole crew, including the chef. Highly recommend!
