Apparently this place has been open long enough that you can get in there for a relatively quick weekday lunch. That’s a good thing!

Here’s how it happened…I left BJC and headed north on Euclid looking for a parking spot. My plan was to ditch the car and then find a restaurant I had never tried before and give them a shot. Not surprisingly, there was nowhere to park until I spotted Shake Shack and looked around the corner onto Pine where there were a plethora of available parking spaces. Ok, maybe it was just one but it looked like Nirvana after making the slow cruise all the way there from the parking garage.

I walked in and was able to place my order within about 3 minutes of getting in line. That gave me enough time to ask someone behind me what’s good. His recommendation was to order a double cheeseburger, fries and a shake. Unfortunately, I had several compelling reasons to stay awake all afternoon so I stopped with the burger. Good thing…I was stuffed!

About the burger…it was served hot enough to scald, which is a good thing. Plenty of seasoning had been applied during cooking and it had the right combination of crispy edges and gooey cheese to make it really enjoyable. Also, it was a bit greasy. Not in a nasty way, more so in a 1970’s dive joint burger way that was oddly reminiscent of the days before anyone talked about calories, fat grams, cholesterol, etc. My burger was a neat departure from reality for a few minutes and was much appreciated on a hectic day.

Why only 4 stars instead of five? Price. Nine bucks for a double cheeseburger on a tray with nothing else is not in the least bit nostalgic.

This place is pretty good. I consider it a fast food spot (which is almost always a no-no), but it’s refreshingly good. I recently went on a trip out of the country to Southeast Asia and couldn’t find a good burger ANYWHERE, until I came across a Shake Shack inside the airport. Needless to say; I was ecstatic. Comparing it to other fast food burgers, it’s definitely top notch. I built my own burger at this location with a single patty, lettuce, tomato, avocado, peppers, and crispy onion. I was very satisfied. I ordered an order of onion rings, and was super surprised to see that they offered boba along with their lemonade. Onion rings were a little oily, but still tolerable. Definitely not as good as their burger, but worth a try. As far as the lemonade goes; I definitely prefer a refreshing water based lemonade (which this is not). Their lemonade is much more of a sweet sugary thick lemonde which I typically don’t like, but this is just a matter of preference. If you like hydrating lemonade, this isn’t the lemonade for you, if you have a sweet tooth, then a must try.

This rating is based on a fast food comparison.
Burger: 9/10
Onion Rings: 6/10
Lemonade drink with Boba: 8/10

Overall: 8/10

Skip it and go to any other place in the area. Garbage service. Let me sit waiting even though my food was ready for 15 minutes AFTER id given my name because they were too lazy to yell it and too dumb to remember it. The notification on the order is the only reason I knew it was ready. Soaked through fries and everything is cold. What idiot puts the cheese on to go fries and not on the side? I’ve never seen that before. Will never be returning and I’m glad I got my money back.

I treat shake shack as a vacation; I’m the tourist and I treat myself to a shack sack stat. Take that trip, and Eat at shake shack as much as possible. A fun yum place for lunch. Grab a beer if you dare; because they serve them here.

Took a minute before anyone came to the counter so that I could place my order. Took longer than usual to receive the food. The Korean chicken sandwich was prepared very sloppy. Never had a bad experience with this restaurant until tonight. Not too happy because I was excited to try the new sandwich.

Everything was good. The atmosphere was really good on a corner…Great For People Watching!!! The food was delicious. We just can’t afford to go here all of the time. The price is what makes 4 instead of 5 stars.

The best veggie burger I ever had in my life! The lemonade was delicious. I appreciated the clean restroom and great customer service! A combo meal is not offered and to save on cost, my husband and I shared a fry. This meal was around $30. The taste and quality was a determining factor to return. I don’t mind paying for quality.

Double was $9 and single was $6 with no fries or drink. Burger was salty. Crinkle cut fries not my favorite. Shakes were very thick. The restaurant was clean but service took a while. Overall not bad but I had higher expectations. They do serve alcohol.
