Whenever I’m in Harrisburg for work, one of our team’s go-to spots for a satisfying, flavorful meal is My Taste of India—and for good reason. This place feels like a warm invitation into a Punjabi home kitchen, with all the rich spices, comforting dishes, and genuine hospitality you’d hope for.
Run by the amazing duo—Joe and his brother Joseph—the experience here is always personal and welcoming. They clearly take pride in what they serve, and it shows in every dish and every interaction.
We’ve worked our way through much of the menu (yes, we’re those regulars), but this visit was especially epic. We ordered:
Fried Masala Papad to kick things off with a crunch and a kick
Egg Burji (a team favorite—flavor bomb!)
Cholay, Daal, and Saag – hearty, well-spiced, and perfectly cooked & probably the best thing your taste buds will experience.
Naan, Kulcha, and Makai ki Roti – fresh off the tandoor, pillowy and delicious
Chicken Biryani – aromatic and packed with depth
Tandoori Chicken – tender, juicy, and sizzling with smoky flavor
Everything was incredible—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love and tradition. You can taste the roots of Punjab in every bite.
The best part? The vibe. Joe and Joseph make everyone feel like family. The service is prompt, warm, and always accommodating—even when our group rolls in hungry and loud!

I have eaten “the best Indian food in the world” in London, and this restaurant is BETTER! The paneer tikka masala was PERFECT, the korma and the naan were incredible, and the cauliflower appetizer with a sweet-hot sauce was delicious! Everything was made from FRESH ingredients to order. Joe was friendly and kindly made the recommendation for the appetizer when I asked for something with an interesting flavor profile.
Do not let the fact that it is in a truck plaza put you off. The food here is better than any I have gotten in the fancy Indian restaurants! Worth the long drive I made to get here, WILL RETURN FOR MORE!

Let me tell you something… I’ve eaten at alot of Indian places but none has compared to this place right here. The food made me feel like I was in India all over again. Authentic taste and they prepare everything as you order. The chef even came and asked about my experience. I ordered chicken biryani, butter chicken, and naan, and everything was absolutely delicious. The biryani had perfect spices, and the butter chicken was rich and full of flavor. The naan was soft and fresh. The service was excellent and the place was very clean. One of the best Indian food experiences I’ve had. I will definitely come back again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

On our first day trip to Florida we stop for a night sleep in Harrisburg PA and notice this very simple looking Indian restaurant. What an amazing Indian cuisine and an amazing chef, Joe!
My wife ordered Curry rice and Homestyle Chicken Curry and I, a Lamb Korma with plain Basmatti rice with Garlic Naan….it was unique, the best Indian food ever.
On our way back home we couldn’t resist….we stop at the same hotel near My Taste of India and this time we ordered a take out and savoured Goat Tikka Masala, Homestyle Chick Peas Tikka Masala with Plain Basmatti rice and Garlic Naan!….simply Divine!!!

Y’all, YALL, need to listen to me about this hidden gem. I mean it’s not so hidden( it’s right off of the interstate, apparently only locals and drivers know about it). My taste of India is respectively absolutely the best Indian food Ive had!!
Slightly Disregard the images, as I got take out food and the delicious dinner didn’t look very pretty as I’ve had to put on the take out plates..
I ordered the butter chicken with garlic Nan. I originally ordered it with the six spicy out of 1 to 10 .. I tried it in the restaurant and it didn’t seem to be spicy enough for me. They do not hesitate to help me out, put green chilies in.. let me tell y’all, LISTEN, absolutely the best Indian food out here anywhere around Harrisburg PA..
This restaurant is 100%!! Walk in , beautiful, clean, ambiance is perfect. The facilities are very clean.
Next time we come through here, will definitely have a sit down lunch or dinner..
My only complaint is they aren’t open 24/7!!
