Great place for early morning breakfast! They are very friendly, fast refilling your coffee cup and the food is exactly what you would expect at a local family restaurant. The early crowd is mostly older folks and there is a short concrete ramp at the entrance for easy access. You will not find friendlier people anywhere around!

Jan & Heather are by far my favorite waitresses of any place I have visited. Shaffer’s cooks pay attention to details & get our orders right every time. We always leave feeling full & content. I got the farmers omelet & John order a half order of biscuits & gravy, 2 eggs over medium, cornbeef & hash and crispy bacon. Coffee for both of us & like always the food & service was AWESOME! Shaffer’s rocks because the staff cares. Love ya Jan & Heather!

Food was great. Dry on the veggie omelete tho, not fluffy! Dry eggs! Seemed like just made an egg crepe, and folded in some veggies. Toast was not blackened but made right! Thank you to the owner! She was a sweetheart as was Christine! Soups were great but, not hot! Please, next time hot when brought out! Service was 5 Star! We will return here for another meal! Thank you!

A family friendly restaurant with home style meals, snacks, desserts, etc. just like our family’s made from scratch recipes. My family & I love the breakfast & desserts most of all. They have an amazing menu! You can order breakfast any time day or night [see their current business hours]. The service is always great & everyone treats you more like family than a customer. I strongly recommend. I suggest everyone try the apple dumplings, stuffed cabbage soup, ribeye steaks, pumpkin pie, and any of the omelets [all my personal favorites].

So frustrated. This is usually our go to place in town for a weekend breakfast that is good and fast. Lately the service has been slacking and today we sat there for 30 minutes after ordering and still didn’t have food. The restaurant wasn’t even busy when we got there. When we asked the waitress the status of our order she couldn’t even find it. Four people that arrived after us were served and ours had yet to be started. Sadly we were in a time crunch so we had to leave with no breakfast.

My family and I ate here last tuesday September 6th 2022. All of our food was disgusting. My mom got chicken alfredo that had no sauce it looked like cottage cheese on top and the plain noodles were in an inch of grease! My grandmothers food was cold and mushy. I had the biscuits and gravy but it didnt look right. The gravy was all watery and it had a funny taste. The waitress never returned to our table the whole time after the food was given to us with the bill right away as if we werent getting anything else. No refills on drinks or nothing! Terrible service!!! Also it costed $50 for our nasty food and i was sick the following morning from food poisoning. I am just now recovering from it thank god!!! We will never return to this place. Also has anyone noticed the moldy/mildew smell as soon as you enter the building? Shouldve been a red flag i wish i turned around then and walked out. Im only putting this review to warn others. I see a few good reviews but they are all old reviews. This place may have been good in the past but who ever is running it now needs to step it up. I hope everyone else that ate there last week is ok and they need turned in to the health department!!

The service was great. The food is okay. I went up to the register to pay the check and there’s a sign up there that says if you pay with a credit card there’s a surcharge fee if you use a debit card or pay with cash there’s no fee. I paid with a debit card and when she gave me the receipt to sign there was a $1.35 surcharge fee. I asked why I was being charged the fee and she said that the owner will not allow her to give the keypad to the customer so that they can put their debit card number in there, so your debit card is being charged as a credit card. I pointed out what the sign says and I said you are literally lying to your customers. Apparently the owner does not know that she is not allowed to charge a surcharge fee using a credit card. I told the waitress that we will not be coming back to the restaurant ever again.

Absolutely one of my favourite places in town. Amazing prices like no other and service is always top notch for a classic diner. Comfortable atmosphere, you never feel out of place even if you’re the only one in there.
