Decided to visit a restaurant in Superior while staying in Duluth. We chose The Shack because, overall, it was rated higher than the other restaurants nearby. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectations. We both ordered hamburgers, which we found oddly dry and tasteless. Not sure if they made the meat patties ahead of time, than reheated them for their customers – but the meat was much drier/tasteless than a normal burger. Wait staff were pleasant and prompt, but that’s not enough to warrant another meal there again.

I would give fewer stars if I could. We went there based on ratings and proximity to our hotel. The cheese curds were bland and they only had ranch for dipping. The fries were very bland considering they were supposed to be garlic parmesan seasoned, the chips had no flavor at all, and the bacon Mac and cheese lacked flavor as well. I’ve never had such a bland meal for $50 at a fairly well rated restaurant before today. Very disappointing

Went to ask for menus after sitting down for ten minutes and main server put up her hand and simply walked away. Short staffed and extremely rude! Can understand being short staffed but being rude is not appreciated. Left immediately.
