Freshly made pasta unique drinks. The atmosphere was the same as the other two restaurants in this location. The restaurant seems to have multiple personalities. The food and drinks are high end but the attire of the staff that I saw was extremely casual. My waitress was fine and I have no complaints about the service I got. I think the restaurant has a level of food quality that could take the restaurant to the next level if some changes to the atmosphere and staff attire happened.

Went here for a date night with my husband since we are fans of the original restaurant in Kittery. The food was excellent and the portions were reasonable. We enjoyed a bottle of wine serval apps and entrees. The he overall vibe of the restaurant is lacking. I hope they add more decor to warm up their he space on the future we will def be back!

We had a lovely date night here. The foccacia was fantastic, and the roasted spiced carrots were some of the most flavorful vegetables I have had in years. I got the pork belly which was so incredibly delicious, the mostarda was insane. My girlfriend got the risotto which was creamy and perfectly cooked. We got the tiramisu for dessert which was the perfect cap to a really nice meal. Maine needs more restaurants like this. Highly recommend!

Secundo is the sister location of Festina Lente, a beloved Italian spot in Kittery. The menus share a lot of commonalities. The food was middle of the road – I enjoyed my cacio e pepe, which you also will if you love black pepper, and the caesar salad was grilled, providing a fresh take on a classic. However, one of my companions ordered the scampi and the shrimp was very overcooked – something that shouldn’t happen to one of the most expensive items on the menu. The real highlight was the cocktails – the limoncello spritz in particular was fantastic and something I would go back to order! Hoping that this spot finds its footing because the service was great and I think South Berwick deserves a great Italian spot with staying power.

We read about this restaurant in the latest issue of Down East Magazine, and the review was so complimentary, we thought we’d take the 40 min trip from the Kennebunks to try it. First of all, I don’t know what the reviewer was smoking, but our experience (food and atmosphere) was the polar opposite of what was described in the review. Speaking of polar, on a 90 degree, very humid Saturday afternoon, there was only one very tired Mitsubishi unit in the bar that was seriously out matched by the weather, the heat generated by the kitchen and the diners (even the hostess was fanning herself). Bottom line, it was down right HOT! Based on the above, I would say Hard Pass. Now to the food and drink: the bar selection is shockingly limited. The menu was only slightly less so. As a first course we ordered focaccia bread. It was dry, the butter was melted and the generic olive oil was in desperate need of doctoring. I had scampi that was ok, but because it was served in a small bowl, it was almost impossible to separate the shrimps’ heads and tails from the their bodies (tentacles were floating in abundance in the sauce). My dinner partner had chicken parm. The breading was gummy, the pasta, though declined when ordered, arrived over cooked. Again, both chicken and pasta were served in a small bowl which made it impossible to cut into bite sized pieces. Best yet, when parmigiana cheese was requested to sprinkle on top, there was an additional charge! We will not be returning anytime soon.

First time here, for date night. We dressed up but plenty of people were casual too. The place isn’t huge, the decor was very nice inside. The menu is very limited, but what we had was good (chicken Parm, lobster fettuccini, adequate tiramisu). Prices weren’t exactly cheap eats but not outrageous either. Service was friendly, maybe a little on the slow side. As others have mentioned there are no extras like bread offered for the table. I was also surprised there was no sangria on the menu like at most other Italian restaurants. When I asked about making a vegetable substitution in the fettuccini (broccoli instead of cherry tomatoes), there was a bit of hemming and hawing even though broccolini was part of several other dishes. They were able to accommodate in the end and it was delicious.
Overall a decent place, and nice to have something a little fancier local if you want to feel a little more upscale.

Great neighborhood restaurant with homemade pasta. Tried for different entrees and all were delicious. Nice selection of wines at reasonable prices. Quiet and relaxing vibe.

Fresh restored interior. Minimalist setting. UnderCooked main as well as no scent of Italian herbs & spices. Unmemorable for me. No bread. No local conversation. No bread?..

Beautiful new venue, cozy intimate atmosphere. We went for a date night and had a very pleasant evening. The wait staff was very attentive. She answered any questions we had about items on the menu. We had olives and the bread appetizers. The bread dish was SO good, it was toasted to perfection with a soft inside. Just the right amount of butter and salt. The olives were warm and delicious. Our meals both came out delicious. The pasta was very fresh. We even saved room for dessert and enjoyed a local blueberry ice cream and olive oil cake. I would definitely go back to try out this cute new spot again.

I’ve been going to this restaurant several times a month ever since they opened. My wife and I both think it is terrific. While there are staples on the menu that are delicious and consistent, there are also new foods that rotate that are also fantastic. The food is well seasoned without ever being bland or too spicy. The red sauce is also terrific. The bar is a nice addition and have excellent cocktails. I suggest you try the cappelletti spritz. The ice cream as well as the rotating desserts are also excellent. In summary, always an excellent experience in a relaxed atmosphere.
