SATA Empanada is a Mom and Pop restaurant owned by Nader and Shirin. The couple moved to the USA in 2016 and have decided to follow their passion and continue sharing their love for food by opening up a restaurant just like how they always did back home! SATA is named after their two daughters, Sara and Tara.

Delicious and fresh empanadas! They feel homemade with a wheat flour crust that is very crispy and not greasy at all. They offer multiple flavors and have menus in both Spanish and English.
The ground beef was our favorite; it has a little bit of corn and potato and is really flavorful. The steak and mushroom is also very tasty, both have a gravy like filling that makes them juicy.
The cheese empanada uses a mix of white and yellow cheese; I loved the combination. The spinach one is great for those who like greens, the spinach tasted fresh and well prepared.
They also have a really tasty lentil soup that is very nourishing. If you like lentils, you should definitely try it. Nothing felt heavy, over-seasoned, or greasy.
Everything was made with care, and it felt so good to eat there.
The person who assisted us was so nice, friendly, and helpful. It was wonderful to find someone with that attitude after a long day of work. Thank you, sir!

This was my first time trying Sata Empanas on Dale Mabry. I had the beef and the chicken one. They were both delicious and the portion size was great. The shell was fried well with no burnt spots like sometimes occurs on other places where I’ve gotten an Empanada.
I also tasted the lentil soup and it was very flavorful.
The owner was really personable and courteous. The prices were really reasonable. You can get items to go or you can sit at one of the two small tables outside as there’s no indoor dining. I recommend this place.

what a gem this place is and the owner is so so so incredibly sweet the complimentary lentil soup was delicious as well as the empanadas, he really has it all down. they weren’t greasy or heavy and so flavorful! absolutely support this little place, my partner said he could sell her dirt and she’d be happy lollll

Stopped by on a whim because I was craving an empanada. Immediately encountered the KINDEST owner who let me and my family try the (delicious, very flavorful) lentil soup while I ordered a few empanadas. I had one of the best beef empanadas I’ve had in a while. Also had a delicious steak and mushroom empanada as well as a pepperoni and cheese one. My husband loved the chicken empanada and my very picky daughter loved her cheese empanada. This will become a new favorite spot for us, for sure!

This is a hidden gem! They do to-go only and there are two picnic tables outside. The owner was so nice and gave me a sample of the lentil soup which was delicious!! Then I got two chicken empanadas and they are sooo amazing, filled to the brim with juicy chicken. It is one of the best empanadas I’ve had for sure. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone!

Stopped by for a few empanadas to go. Owner was so hospitable and sweet. The food was made fresh, came out quickly, and was cooked to perfection, with each empanada in its own cute little labeled bag. We ordered the steak/mushroom, chicken, and ground beef empanadas, all of which were delicious and filled with meat. The lentil soup was also phenomenal. Would return due to the excellent customer service and presentation alone, but the food makes it perfect. I’m about 20+ minutes away, but will be making the trip here as frequently as I can. Don’t sleep on this place!!!

Great food and awesome service! We ordered a bunch of empanadas and a sandwich, and everything came out super fresh. The owner was really nice and you could tell he’s passionate about what he does. He even gave us a free sample of soup, which was delicious. Definitely coming back!

Okay words couldn’t express how of a hidden Gem this place is. The owner hospitality is out of this world he makes you feel like a family member vista his home. Please support this small business we need to keep this place alive. People the empanadas are wonderful not greasy. It’s a must try if you’re in tampa. The apples pie is homemade and authentic. Everything I have eaten from empanadas, Pizza, veggie burgers sandwich are all amazing so fresh. You could taste the love in all the flavors. Just go buy taste for yourself.

Me and my husband came here because he was craving empanadas and I googled the location after passing by so much, I recommend this place 20/20. The owner is the sweetest most adorablest ever. We ordered fresh apple juice beef empanada and lentil soup, totally worth it. Please give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.
