I have been eating at Sansho (both dine in and take out) for years, and they never disappoint. I recently came in for a special treat on my birthday and enjoyed the freshest and most beautifully presented VIP Chirashi I could ask for. Hands down the best place in Lower Mainland if you are looking for a Japanese-run sushi restaurant.

Sansho Sushi is a fantastic spot for fresh, high quality, great flavours, well-prepared sushi with great attention to detail. The fish is incredibly fresh and practically melts in your mouth, making every bite smooth and flavorful. Each roll is beautifully presented without being overcomplicated. The menu offers a nice balance of classic favorites and creative options, so there’s something for both traditional sushi lovers and those looking to try something new.
The service is friendly and attentive, making the dining experience relaxed and enjoyable. Orders come out promptly, and the staff is knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer recommendations.
Highly recommended!!!

This is now my favourite Japanese restaurant. The fish was fresh and has good quality. The servers and the cooks were very polite and kind. This is probably the only Japanese restaurant in the North Shore that is run by Japanese. I’ll definitely go back.

A hidden gem tucked into a neighborhood. Runs by Japanese owner, servers are mostly Japanese too, so you will have different feeling than other Sushi restaurants. Rolls was fresh and loaded with good quality fish. Highly recommended.

Suprised how busy it was for a Sunday. Wanted to try this place for awhile. Grabbed the lunch special Bento box $21.95. The bento gave us a little bit of everything. The sashimi was fresh, all the variety little bits in the box was better than so many other establishments have offered. Definitely going back to explore more options this place provides

Was visiting family in North Van and we heard good things about this place so we went there for lunch. I had a Bento box and my wife had the sushi lunch. Both meals were excellent. The nigiri sushi comes with good sized pieces of fish on top. Service and atmosphere were also great.

Felt a lot like being back in Japan. They were very busy when we went, so service took a while, but they were very apologetic about it and I know they were working hard. The service was great, they were very friendly and even offered to deep fry my prawn head for me which was fun since I never had it prepared that way before (and it was actually pretty tasty). Sushi was really fresh and tasty with a nice presentation and fair prices.

Food tasted great! Ordered the salmon fin/belly dinner set menu which came with a bowl or rice, miso soup, salad, 3 types of sashimi (6pc), and a small dish of what I think was spinach and some peanut sauce. Prices are reasonable and service was friendly.

Stumbled on this delicious gem tucked into a neighborhood. Locals only, this place did not disappoint. Each roll was fresh and loaded with good quality fish. The sockeye salmon and yellow tail nigiri melted in your mouth not to mention the scallop roll. Parking is tight and it’s small inside but worth going off the beaten path.
