Awesome food and atmosphere. Best priced beer in all of Maui, from what we saw. And a ton of local brews too. Just $4 all day. All the food was on point. Being from SoCal I know Mexican food. They have the best quesadilla I’ve ever had. The Quesera-dilla Rojas. Insane. I didn’t see a happy hour but I feel like the prices were lower than most happy hour anyways. Very clean and quick service.

Love this restaurant! Off the beaten path so not too crowded and the ambiance is great. The drinks were amazing! Also had the best Caesar salad and vegetarian enchiladas. My boyfriend said the al pastor tacos were excellent. I don’t understand the low ratings for this restaurant, everything was superb. Probably the best meal we had during our week long Maui stay.

If I could rate the drinks and the food separately I would. The margaritas were really good, five stars worthy, and a great take on a more Hawaiian version of a margarita. The food was not so great. I got the mariposa salad which was basically just lettuce and a few other veggies on top of not so well flavored black beans. Nothing all that special, but the hibiscus vinaigrette wasn’t that bad. My husband got the fish tacos and the fish was not good at all. It was over cooked and tasted old and not well kept in storage before it was cooked. The rice tasted very similar to rice a roni versions of Mexican rice. As Texas inhabitants and huge fans o TexMex we were excited to try Maui’s version of it. We weren’t expecting perfection but the good left a lot to be desired and there are better places yo go close by for better TexMex. The service was also a bit slow. We waited quite a while for the server to return so we could ask for our check.

I didn’t have a lot of options at nearly 9.00pm on a Sunday night near Lower Honoapiilani Rd, Lahaina, so I took a chance on this pseudo Mexican restaurant. I should have known better when I saw the paint peeling off the tables and the dog-eared sticky menus but hey ho chicken fajitas are chicken fajitas right? Wrong.

We stopped here at the last minute to grab a quick bite and were very surprised that the Mexican food was delicious! We’re from Southern California so I was skeptical since Maui isn’t known for their Mexican fare.

Hostess was cold and unfriendly. Chips were CRUMBS in a basket. Margaritas were undrinkable. Incorrect items were brought to the table. Server was upset at US for not ordering what she was trying to put on the table. Fish was over-cooked rice was hard and stale. Staff was over-all grouchy and in a bad mood. They seemed like they didn’t want us there, but more than willing to take the 20% auto gratuity that was added to the overpriced food. Never again. Gas station Mexican food is better than this place. Avoid it. The funny thing is, they have all these “best of” awards hanging around. Somehow this place won best Mexican food in Maui the last three years. Yet, they have a ton of bad reviews. Interesting.

If I had read the reviews before we went I would not have gone. Service was terrible, food was less than mediocre. We are on vacation in Maui with our four children. One of which is a toddler. We had to ask for everything we needed- drink refill included. STILL trying to figure out how the waitress CHARGED a 20% gratuity on two adult meals and three kids meals? Maybe that is their policy because they would not get tipped at all due to terrible service. Taco bell would have been a better choice. They need a lesson in customer service. Do not waste your $$$.

This restaurant has potential, but unfortunately it missed the bill. The ambience is nice, but the service and food are not the best. The margarita is just a mix. The service was very slow and the place was almost empty. Both of our orders came out wrong and my husband’s order a good 10 mins before mine. The fried ice cream wasn’t good. The enchiladas were fine. The food isn’t bad, but It isn’t quite good enough to go back. The staff were sweet and it’s nice a spacious location with lots of outdoor seating.

Wish I could give a 3-1/2 stars here, but I would round it up to four stars. Easy parking and there were not too many people in the restaurant when we dined in that evening. Guacamole was quite decent, and their grilled octopus was quite good. There were no changing tables inside the restrooms, but they do have highchairs. Overall, a pretty laid back place with decent Mexican food.

If you’re a Mexican food purist, this is not the place for you. The menu states “the owner is making Mexican healthy” which turned out to mean the food is bland, the portions are small, and it’s ridiculously expensive. Trust me, any dive bar Mexican restaurant in Maui will have WAY better food at half the cost. My fish tacos literally tasted like cardboard and my husbands fried oyster tacos tasted like they were battered in sand. I would never recommend eating here.
