Absolutely delicious from start to finish! Every part of this restaurant is worth it. We were driving from Arizona to Montana, and this has become our favorite place to stop before settling in for the night—always a highlight of the trip.

It had been a long while since we’ve been to sandpiper and from what I remember it was a very nice experience the last time I went. I decided to take my wife out for a special occasion. The place looks great as it did last time I went and we were promptly taken to a table. It was all downhill from there. First off they bring you bread which in itself feels processed and it’s blonde and flavorless. They serve it with a big pile of Parmesan cheese that’s unmelted and I don’t know if it’s split or if they added oil on top of it but it was disgusting and if you were to eat it it’s so strong and oily that I doubt you could taste your entree. So I ordered the stuffed halibut and to call it stuffed borders on false advertising it was supposed to have prawns Crab & brie there was what appeared to be half a prawn and maybe half a teaspoon of crab and the piece of fish was so small for $30. Then to top it all off it was dry as canned tuna and taste it pretty close to it. My wife ordered the filet medallions with Gorgonzola pasta. The filet was cooked well done which is a crime unto itself and look like it had been in the fryer. The sauce on the pasta was split and tasted of flour. The next problem was the service while our waitress seemed friendly at first that would change. By the end of the first half an hour we were starting to get the cold shoulder. This on top of the fact that she was wearing a skirt so short you could see her butt when she leaned over. After finishing our entrees and for some reason she only took one of our plates and left the dirty plate on our table while we waited for our dessert which ended up being 15 minutes. The desert was the only good part of the meal the creme brulee was delicious and the blackberries tasted fresh. This is our 21st wedding anniversary and I was really hoping for it to be a special one I was vastly disappointed and will not be returning to the Pocatello location.

WOW. WOW. WOW!!!! This place is great! My husband and I came from Utah for his work. We stayed at La Quinta which is right next to it. You also get a discount if you stay at La Quinta! But we have been here every night that we have stayed because they have such friendly service. Honestly beyond this world! They are so kind and the food is so so good! Literally everything that we have ordered from here has been more than exceptional. For the price I feel like it’s definitely worth it. This place is awesome and I wish they had it in Utah. ✨

The Sandpiper is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion, and that’s exactly what we did for my mom’s birthday. This restaurant is a longtime favorite of hers, so whenever I’m in town, we make it a point to bring her here.
This visit felt extra special—not only because we were celebrating her birthday, but because our waitress, Jacie, was truly outstanding. She was absolutely lovely—prompt, attentive, kept us updated, and checked in just the right amount. Her service genuinely enhanced an already wonderful evening.
If you’re looking for a fabulous meal and exceptional service, I highly recommend visiting The Sandpiper. And if you’re lucky enough to have Jacie as your server, you’re in for a great experience.

It was pretty good. The stuffed salmon and clam chowder was the best. The halibut was overcooked and dry. The New York strip was tender, but needed seasoning. The garden salad was good.

Great place for a delicious dinner. Especially if you’re gluten intolerant. Lots of gluten free options. Employees are great.

Salesman for my company booked another customer visit here. This time I thought, how hard is it to screw up a 16 ounce Dry Rubbed Ribeye. They did it and I have serious doubts this started out as 16 ounces… photos attached. For one of their signature dishes, had no flavor – if there was spice on it, I couldn’t taste it. Asked for Medium Moo, got closer to Medium. Paid $40 bucks for this sucker and the $20 Ribeye I got at sizzler in town was 3 times the steak (figuratively)… didn’t finish it. The only good thing about my meal was the baked potato and the Manhattan. Service was actually much better this time. I swear I don’t get why this town likes this place. Jakers all the way in Pocatello…
Gave the Sandpiper a second chance. Still ok food. Service was better this time. Still don’t get why folks in Pocatello swear by this place. Had the crusted Halibut this time. Cook good, not overdone. Good, not great experience.
Original Review – I was honestly hoping for better based on the menu and full parking lot. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. The salad was the best part of the meal. The Salmon dish was ok, overcooked and burned/stuck to the plate – would not order it again on a bet. The fried oysters were greasy (couldn’t finish them). Every thing else was just ok. Would not go out of my way to eat here again…

Food is great. Prices for quality matches. The steaks are top notch. The mixed drinks tend to be weak pours, I wouldn’t recommend. Ilmy last visit the waitress was slow. Didn’t seam to care and spent time talking to her regulars. After we were done it took 30 min to get her to give us the bill. Then after she had our debit cards spent 15 min chatting with other dinners…not serving chatting before coming back.

Horrible experience. I/we usually never complain about a restaurant but we have dined at the Sandpiper several times and have recommended it to others and our dinner was not the norm. Our food was not prepared as ordered. . We had ordered prime rib medium. and it literally came to us as rare/raw. The appetizer of brussels sprout were hard as rock. We sent them back, they came back same condition. The lobster bisque soup was cold. It was supposed to be hot. The fish my granddaughter ordered smelled rotten, so we didn’t have her eat it. The server who was having problems too(forgetting items)tried her best to have the food cooked properly but that didn’t happen. I figured must be a new chef who was just learning the business but I think he needs a different career.
