The Sandpiper Restaurant – Idaho Falls was a great experience from the moment we walked in. We were greeted warmly by the staff and seated immediately.
Our server, Dustin, was absolutely superb. He answered our menu questions, made excellent recommendations, and was genuinely personable. He steered us toward the filet mignon, prime rib beef dip, and macadamia-crusted halibut, and all were delicious choices. He also encouraged us to come back in the summer to enjoy the beautiful patio views — and we definitely will!
This may sound funny, but the French fries were bomb, while the baked potato wasn’t (probably just an off night on the baker ). Everything else was spot on, and the overall experience more than made up for it.
Friendly service, great food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Five stars — we’ll be back!

The atmosphere is great here, and the food is absolutely delicious. The steak melted in my mouth. The french dip sandwich was to die for. The steak burger is huge and awesome. Our waiter was amazing and so attentive. He came and checked on us The perfect amount of times and was so courteous and helpful. There is outdoor and indoor seating. They serve alcohol. There are many TVS in the dining room If you want to watch sports as you eat. It is pricey, but it is worth it because the food was so delicious.

Our experience at Sandpiper was PHENOMENAL! The food was spectacular (crab legs, brussel sprouts, clams, ale battered shrimp), the restaurant was clean with an awesome view. Even with these things taken into account what truly made it memorable was our server BRADY. This individual went above and beyond to make our experience special. He was attentive, kind, efficient, patient and all the other positive things you could ever wish for in a human being. Thank you Brady for making such a memorable day for our group!

5 STARS for sure. Everything we had was amazing. The marionberry basilade was so refreshing, I love basil in my drink so this was perfect for me. The stuffed mushrooms were absolutely delicious. My mom had the pork shank and OMG it was huge!!!! She thoroughly enjoyed it and had a bunch to take home because there was so much, it fed her for 2 more meals. I had the surf and turf to sample a couple things and equally amazing. Ended with the creme brulee which had the thickest sugar layer I have experienced! We did get the mud pie to go and had it the next day and definitely will be getting that again. Overall, it was such an amazing dinner. Megan was our waitress and she was super awesome. We ended up getting some gift cards as well because they were on special. I will be back 🙂

This is my favorite restaurant in Idaho falls. I’ve been coming here for years and I wish I found this restaurant sooner. I really enjoy their ribeye steak 500 style. The rack of lamb is my favorite! My wife loves their crab legs. Hands down the Sandpiper offers the best seafood and steak in the area.

Good atmosphere with delicious food and great drinks. Isaac made some good Idaho mules and had great service. Got us bread with the oil. Our order came out and was great. The pasta was good. Also got a sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and they were so good! Definitely recommend going.

The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because we ate the majority of the meal, and the waitress was nice.
This used to be a good place to eat but has sadly gone downhill over the years. If this is what East Idaho considers good, then everyone is sorely lacking in a good restaurant experience. Im kinda shocked this place is even still in business, honestly.
We had Prime Rib and Lobster. The menu said the horseradish was fresh grated and what came was creamy, with zero grated horseradish to be found. The lobster was very overcooked and chewy. The prime rib was tender but it was definitely reheated and the fat was cold to the touch.
The Creme Brûlée we had for desert, was probably the worst I’ve ever had. For starters it wasn’t even warm and lacking a lot of the rich flavor you expect with Creme Brûlée. The sugar topping was burned, bitter and so thick you could hardly break through the crust. We couldn’t even finish it.
And sadly the mixed drinks we had were both very weak… I’m still not entirely convinced there was any alcohol in my daiquiri. All in all it was edible, but utterly not worth the prices they are charging. Very, very, disappointing meal overall.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The prime rib was absolutely delicious cooked perfectly, tender, and full of flavor. All the staff was incredible, Brady was so attentive and made our evening feel extra special.
The atmosphere was lovely, with a beautiful view of the river that made everything feel romantic and peaceful. It was the perfect place to celebrate a special moment. We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it!

The Sandpiper has been a favorite for us for the last ten years. Tonight we stayed in town specifically for supper here. The steaks were very very thin. Both our ribeyes had no marbling what so ever. The side dishes were 50/50. If we would have know the change in the quality of food we would have drive three hours extra to just go home.
Staff is always pleasant. Cocktails are great.
Sad to see another great restaurant go cheap on the beef.

Visiting from out of state and will DEFINITELY come back! Our server had the BEST customer service I’ve seen in a long time! He came over and apologized to us due to our food taking an hour to come out because of a group of 20 that had ordered before us. We were in no rush and had no problem waiting! He was very genuine and continued to check on us, even gave us soup to hold us over until our food came out. And oh my, the wait was SOOO worth it! The Chicken Alfredo and Chicken Baja had so much flavor, we couldn’t stop eating until it was gone! If you have room for dessert, the Mud Pie was DELICIOUS and the portion was HUGE! Very reasonably priced for the quality of food!
