This is a really tough review to do. The server was phenomenal despite being the only one on staff when I visited due to call outs. As a customer I should never know this information but it was apparent. She was doing everything in her power to keep that ship floating. She was hustling to the point she fell down the stairs but still managed to keep that tray above her head and no food was dropped. We waited longer than expected for our food but it was well worth the wait. It was absolutely delicious. When the food came out we were missing two meals in our party of seven. She corrected the issue immediately and the two meal came out shortly after.
We went here based of their lunch specials posted online. The server informed us that those specials were no longer valid due to an ownership change. We paid double what we expected based off the online menu.
It’s really a toss up for me if I would go back. Maybe the establishment just had a bad day staffing, poor web management, etc. The food was absolutely delicious though.

The “Sand Dollar” is a local joint that moved to this location a few years ago from about a mile away. It is a typical bar/pub with a bar, lots of tv’s, a dining side, music and karaoke at times. We came in mid afternoon on a quiet Sunday. Place was pretty empty. One couple at a high top on the dining side. Two different couples at either end of the bar and 4 others at a high top on the bar side. Pleasant country music was coming through the speakers all though a bit too loud for so few patrons. Except for the one guy at the bar high top who was loud and couldn’t put together one sentence without an”F” bomb in it, things were quiet. There are numerous large and small screen tvs that had football games on but the sound was off. Thankfully Mr. “F” bomb left shortly after we arrived. It took a few minutes to be seated as the hostess/waitress was in the back part of the restaurant prepping. We were told by our pleasant server to sit anywhere. We
choose to sit at a high top on the dining side. We were promptly given menus and had our drink order taken. After a few timely minutes we placed our order. We started with naked chicken wings and the Mrs. ordered a burger with cheese and bacon with a side of broccoli. I ordered the Western grilled chicken sandwich with bacon, bbq sauce & onion strings with a side of fries well done. Considering the place was almost empty it took a long time for our food to come out. Probably 20 minutes. When it did finally came out the chicken wings came out with our meals. Appetizers of course shouldn’t be served with your meal. The wings were good but too late. Both of the rolls for our meals were not toasted which is not how most burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches are served. As a result the rolls were a pretty tasteless brioche bun. My grilled chicken was good with lots of bacon and bbq sauce. Unfortunately my onion strings were not there as advertised. But don’t fret, we quickly found them on my wife’s cheeseburger. The switch was made and they were back where they belonged. Despite the missing strings and the taste less roll, everything else was very tasty and prepared well. The fries were very good and cooked as requested. They were somewhere between regular fries in size and steak fries. I’m not a fan of regular steak fries( too much more potato than fry) but because these were like a steak fry on a diet they were just the right blend of both for an excellent french fry. The Mrs. said her burger was very good also despite the blah roll, but her broccoli was room temperature at best and should have been warmer. Overall for our first try things were good not perfect. My 4 star service is a reflection of the service from the kitchen not our waitress. She did a fine job and none of my complaints are directed at her. As this was our first trip to the Sand Dollar and more things were good than bad we will be coming again some time to try something else on their pretty good sized menu.

Very good food here. We got there at about noon and were the only table. Not for long, though. About five minutes into sitting down the patrons started rolling in. By the time we left they were full. Will absolutely go back.

Enjoyed a night out here while visiting the Cape. Variety of menu options, at a reasonable price, food was nicely presented. French fries were some of the best I ever had. Good service and drink options. Would visit here again

We had a great experience at the Sand Dollar Bar & Grill. Great food and service, love the raw bar and decent prices! The place was packed and they had live music which was nice because we were sitting outside. Inside was a bit too loud.

Came here for oyster happy hour, and I must say the oysters were not that great. First of all, it took forever to order our oysters because we could only order than from the shucking stand they set up on the side. And the guys there kept telling us to come back later as they have other orders ahead of us. Like, why not have a system where you write down the orders? We kept have to go back to ask if we can place our order and they kept sending us away. Happened at least 3 times. I understand they’re busy, but that’s not great service.. So we finally get our oysters and shrimp cocktails and the oysters were not shucked very good, and they just dont taste as fresh as oysters I had at other places. The shrimp cocktails were good though.
If you do decide to come here for happy hour, they do have a good beer deal, 5 for the price of 4 I think. But I will probably not come back again.

Excellent service and delicious food. The steak tips and shrimp were so good and my husband really loved their Sand Dollar Burger. Definitely going back when we’re in the area again!

Stopped in on a Friday afternoon with a group of 10 and they were so accommodating. Service was great by sweet 80 year old Linda and all the food was awesome. We had a variety of food too from the prime rib sandwich, fish and chips, chili and numerous appetizers. All very good and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Would not recommend for families or groups. Be aware that their website includes specials or events, like dollar oyster happy hour that are not honored. Our group went there in August. Despite the place being essentially empty, the waitress audibly groaned when we asked for a table. When we asked about the oyster special, the waitress gave us a bunch of attitude and told us that it doesn’t exist…while sitting on a deck with a banner advertising dollar oysters. She said she has asked them to take it off their website. Really disappointing. Would not go back or recommend to anyone. Take your money elsewhere.

A sub par experience from beginning to end. We waited an inordinate amount of from the time we ordered our food until someone came to check on us (we had a 3 year old with us). After an extended period of time the hostess came by to ask us how our meal was. We let her know we had not received our food and asked when we could expect it. Shortly thereafter the owner came over and stated he wanted to make it right…. 10 minutes later the food came. I guess he made it right. Won’t be going back.
