Had a great experience at Samudra Restaurant on Changanassery Bypass. The Kerala meals were fresh, tasty, and nicely served on a banana leaf. The squid fry was the best part—well-spiced, soft, and full of authentic flavour. The service was quick and polite, and the ambience was clean and comfortable. Good food, good serving, and great value for money. Definitely worth visiting

Good food, fast and good service… waiter advised us on selection of food and portion sizes, which was very helpful. Taste was great… We sat in a secluded place, almost like a private room and were worried that the waiters will forget about us… But we were served on time, and they kept coming back, asking us if we needed something. Great experience dining from Samudra Restuarant.
We were greeted with a namasthe from a staff at the entrance. Once we took a seat we were welcomed with a complimentary drink in a short glass.
I had prawns biryani. Biryani was good. Quantity and Quality was equally good. Seating and the interior of the restaurant is done well . There is cozy ambience and the service and attitude of waiters were also good. Price of the menu is at higher end.

Ample Parking space, clean washrooms and easy access being on the side of the bypass. We went around 12.30pm and had lunch.
Food was delicious so was the service. Fish curry meals, biriyani and beef fry, chicken side dishes all were very fresh and tasty. Food quantity and quality is there.
Because we had a newborn baby in the group they offered a crib which was maintained well and even offered feeding room(closed ac dining room) which was a nice gesture. Full marks for service.

Parking is available in front of the restaurant. Overall feel of the restaurant interior is little dated. Food tasted ok. Few items priced little high. Staff service is excellent.

On the way from Kochi to Trivandrum stopped at the Samudra restaurant for dinner.
Had duck masala and nool porotta. Nool porotta was very fluffy and delicious. Duck masala was also quite tasty.
Interiors are very well done.
Service was a bit slow. Since we were traveling further even small delays looked longer.
Ample parking space was available.
Would drop in again if I pass by this restaurant.

Fish curry meals cost ₹170, which includes payasam. The payasam was exceptional. Even though price seems little high, the restaurant offers a premium ambience that adds to the overall experience. However, the highlight was the Neymeen fry, priced at ₹350—it was absolutely delicious.

We were driving towards Alapuzha and wanted to have lunch in Changannaserry around 2.30 pm and found this place through Google and ChatGPT.
Food – The food was very good and tasty. We ordered Parotta, Chappathi, Kerala style Chicken curry, Nenmeen fry, Chicken 65 for 3 people. The food had a stricking similarity to home made food especially my mother’s food (even my mother acknowledged it) with less spices and no heavy ingredients especially Chicken curry and Chicken 65. They also served welcome drink.
Service – Service was good. We don’t speak malayalam so they had a manager who took our order since he knew hindi. The staff was polite and friendly.
Facilities – We were searching for a restaurant with parking (since we were travelling in car) and toilet since we were travelling for around 3 hrs. It had both especially the parking was spacious and toilet was clean and well maintained.
Atmosphere – The restaurant was very spacious and had multiple tables. The ambience was very good and the restaurant was aesthetically good and well maintained.
Prize – The prize seemed little bit overpriced compared to the food we ordered especially the fish fry but we found that fish in Alapuzha especially in tourist locations is expensive.
So if you want tasty food with parking and toilet facilities, this restaurant is highly recommended.

The highlight of our visit was their exceptional customer service. We mentioned that one of the curries wasn’t up to our expectation—and to our surprise, the entire staff team immediately came forward, addressed it politely, and made sure everything was corrected. They even prepared a completely new dish for us. We honestly didn’t expect such a warm, professional, and caring response.

We took a short break during our morning journey and came across Samudhra on the bypass road. We tried their appam, porotta, egg roast, and tea, and everything was absolutely delicious. The dishes had an authentic flavor and suited our taste perfectly. Although the service took a bit of time since they prepare everything fresh after the order, it was worth the wait. The pricing was reasonable, and there’s ample parking space in the front. Overall, we were really satisfied with their breakfast.
