We happened to be out for breakfast and tried this place after a friend told us about it and it was amazing! I must suggest the biscuits and gravy, sausage, and the French toast. It was the best I’ve had in so long! The biscuits are homemade. Whoever is making those has honed the skill. The French toast was incredible and the sausage tasted homemade. The outside looks kinda eh but inside is comfy atmosphere and very clean. You gotta try this one. We’ll definitely be back! We took pics but had started eating already!

Big Pine Rooster Restaurant was fantastic! The food was delicious and clearly made with care — every bite was full of flavor. The service was equally impressive: friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish.
If you’re anywhere near Big Pine Key, this place is a must-stop. We’ll definitely be back!

Great find and just in time as we grabbed the last key lime pie to go! (More being made yes homemade, in the kitchen) didn’t get pictures of our plates as we wolfed them up so fast! Loved that Marcie extended breakfast time for us! Thank you Marcie!

Got the fried pickle app, “frikles” they were delicious! Batter was great, NOT GREASY like most fried pickles. Burgers were great! Whiskey burger was good, good flavor. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Will return again!

Walked in with one other party of two in front of us and was told they just needed to wipe down a few tables (no dishes actually on any tables). Not super busy for season at 10:00am. Only lady there who was also the server shewed us outside and said to wait there until they are ready. 53 mins later we finally go back in after no one coming for us and she says sit and points to the booth right next to front door. That was already wiped down 53 mins previously… Whatever, we sat down and then still 15 mins later not even a drink order or acknowledgment taken. Got up and left after trying to be patient and give them a shot. We loved our first experience here and were excited to come back as we live down the road and hoped it would be a regular for us. I will not support bad ownership though as there was no reason to be that short staffed and rude about it. Especially since they don’t even seem to be hiring. One sever really? Not even a hostess. We left a pair of sunglasses and when we came back shortly after to grab them she threw them outside after saying “oh you left earlier”. Too many other good places to eat. Bye rooster!

Phenomenal little place! Absolutely where you want to stop on the way to the beach for a day. Ruben was delicious, black beans and rice were great! And the wife got the fish basket, super good!

We came here for breakfast and it was good. There was only one server, and it became very busy very quickly. I am not sure why only one server, but she kept up as best she could. The food was good, and they even had homemade donuts, which we got for the road. The establishment was decorated cute, and I feel it was probably a fun time at night. I would go back.

This is one of our go to spots when we’re in the Lower Keys. We love the fried pickles, the different vegetarian options, their mac & cheese, and other house specialties are delicious!
Love the cozy atmosphere of the place with non-LED lighting, booths with pillows and cushions, hardwood floor, and it feels like you’re eating in an old conch house.
We’ve had consistently good service, even if they’re busy, sometimes there’s a wait to order, but the staff has been friendly. Hope that is still the case because bad customer service is the death of most small businesses down here.
We’ll be going there again this weekend and hope to have a great experience as always!

For having only a few staff, we got our food pretty quickly and decently. The food wasn’t bad, I just felt it was overpriced for the quality. Decent amount of seating options as well.

Love this place. Food is always good. But I’m always disappointed that it’s just one lady working there and the chef. 2 people in one restaurant with at least 15 tables plus outdoor seating. All I’m asking is bring in a helping hand.
