Oh my this is truly Southern eating in Okie Land. The food has so much flavor it will leave a great after taste in your mouth. Elijah the owner shows the best hospitality. He actually was the server when I went back a second time today.

Stopped in at Sam’s Southern Eatery for lunch and had a great experience! I started off with the hushpuppies, which were fresh and just the right amount of crispy. For my main dish, I ordered the fish poboy with a side of red beans and rice—the breading and seasoning on the fish were on point, and the red beans and rice were tasty and comforting.Our waiter, Elijah, was especially friendly and attentive, making the meal feel even more welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed and clean, and I appreciated how quick the service was. Overall, Sam’s is a solid spot for southern comfort food in Edmond. I’ll definitely be coming back for another fish poboy and to try more sides!Highly recommend if you’re looking for southern favorites and down-to-earth service

Went there for my first time yesterday and loved it. Great fish, shrimp, hush puppies and red beans and rice. Will be going back!!! They were very friendly and gave us a complimentary red beans and rice. We had way more than we could eat great as leftovers also

Not a bad place for a fish meal, but I must admit several items could be better. The catfish was more than adequate, but the taste and fillet size was on the small size. As a side, ordered hush puppies and had a grand total of five and they were on the small size (notice the pattern). Also, the rice and beans side had a thin layer of beans on the top (small size).
But on a positive note, the people preparing and serving are very nice and sincere.
In summary, may try other fish options within the Edmond area.

Place changes amounts for food from whats on menu and board on the wall. Told it was sales tax. Had 3 plates at 16.95, which went up to 17.21, 17.50, and 17.99. Different taxes on same plates. Yet at bottom of receipt had sales tax added. Looks like a scam to me. Should have refused to pay.

These folks have consistently served up some of the best prepared fried fried cat fish, shrimp and oysters. The boiled and baked food is also great but fried food that is never over cooked and never cooked in old oil shows they care and know what they are doing. Preparation of my orders is always fast. Like 10 min from time I order to when it’s ready. Try those red beans and rice sometime for an extra treat.

This was the first time I tried this establishment I ordered a crawfish po’ boy and a catfish and shrimp plate. For the most part the atmosphere and the staff was fine however I had my food to go and so I really didn’t look over my order as I should have. The shrimp and the catfish appear to be fried a little too hard for my taste but my husband liked it. However I have never seen crawfish fried so hard to where you cant even taste it It was like eating little pieces of crust I would just recommend not frying the crawfish so hard or not frying everything in the same grease or old grease because that’s what appeared to have been done. I probably will not go back but I would say it’s worth trying if you never have but I probably won’t order again from there.
