I have been to Sam’s today not for the first time. I had the fish and jumbo shrimp. It was prepared expeditiously and tasted good along with the cold slaw and corn. The jumbo shrimp were large and seasoned well as was the fish. Although the shrimp did not taste like Gulf shrimp. I wish more local restaurants would use local shrimp. The taste is far different from the imported. As for price to purchase local could not be that much different from the imported. The markets that sell them to the public, have very reasonable prices. I am sure that wholesale they should be very reasonable. Our local food sellers should look into that and advertise that they do prepare with local shrimp, and I think that it would make a big difference in their food sales and compliments.

I got grilled fish and shrimp, with sautéed veggies and it was Oh so good as always. Ask for an extra sauce if you are a sauce lover. The atmosphere isnt bad its clean and the employees are kind. Its just when you dine in,I feel the atmosphere/decor/layout needs a face lift other than that

We recently moved to the area and stopped at this restaurant. We have been back about 5 times since . The food is really good and we absolutely love the fries. The corn is very good and so is the Sam’s sauce. My only issue is with the employees. They are more concerned with being on their phones than attending to the customer. There is one older black lady that is on her cell phone walking around with it in her hand to deliver the food to the tables. And shes at the register using it until she’s ready to put it down to take your order. We also saw one younger girl in the back also on her phone talking. I’ve never been to a restaurant or store where the employees are more concerned with their phone than the customer. If they were a little more friendly that would be great. And maintaining the seating area a bit more that would be nice aswell. When we go to sit down many of the tables are dirty.

The salads are second to none and trust me you won’t be disappointed. I’ve tried the fried chicken salad the grilled chicken salad as well as the fried fish salad and they’re delicious. Can’t wait to try the shrimp ones.

Overall, not bad just okay.
Went on a Thursday for dinner about 6pm and it was empty.
Location: on Ryan Street. Has its own parking lot. I could see parking being difficult if it’s very busy.
Atmosphere: appeared clean. Walk up & order at the counter, they give you a number and will bring food to you. You get your own fountain drink. No loud music. Booth seating (seat yourself).
Service: friendly. Not much interaction except to take order and bring food.
Food: fried & grilled fish, shrimp, chicken, oysters. Salads, burgers, poboys, hushpuppies, fried green tomatoes, coleslaw, red beans & rice, fries. I got the grille fish/shrimp combo with Coleslaw & green beans. My brother got the same except chicken instead of shrimp. We both agreed that our grilled items were too salty. The coleslaw was good. My husband & SIL got the fried fish with fries and okra. He felt the fish was underseasoned. The okra was okay. The fried sides/appetizers felt frozen-fried. I do love that you have the option to make the fried proteins grilled. Their portions are worth the price.
Price: very affordable for fish & shrimp. For grilled 2 fish/5 shrimp & 2 sides plus fried fish (big pieces) & 2 sides plus drink was $30.
Overall, it’s affordable but the quality could be alot better.

Well I stopped in at Sam’s tonight eighth of February 2017 and the food was just great the clams were are amazing! The shrimp was huge and the fish batter was perfect. I also grab the order of fried green tomatoes they were OK but a little on the light side for seven bucks. All in all wonderful meal great service I would recommend to anyone reading this comment.
