CAN someone say, Mexican food ?? This was my first time visiting this local spot and let me tell you, I was in for a treat.
I ordered from the menu which includes rice and beans, and the chille rellono was a big hit. Yummy fresh and quick.
Happy hour is available Monday through Friday, check the website for details. Special on food and drinks.

I’ve been here 3 times, and it’s such an amazing place to eat & digest!!
My server has ALWAYS been “La Flaca” I don’t know her name, but she’s Amazing & ALWAYS makes my experience enjoyable. Very attentive and quick to my requests.
Last night, I had Hector bring me my food!! Such an attentive cook, very lovable, and even though he’s a Chef/Cook, he brought my Food scorching hot straight from the oven/parrilla and those were the BEST TAMALES I’ve ever had……y yo si como tamales como loca!!!
Overall, I definitely recommend this place. It doesn’t need any more recommendations porque siempre está replete de gente. People loooove coming here, and so do I.
I heard that the Supervisor/Manager in Charge’s name is Rubén….. such a nice guy. Aún cuando está ocupado; Siempre saluda a la gente con una sonrisa grande y amicable. Great job, guys!!!!

I think they were short staffed. Normally the food and service are good. I got the chicken, shrimp, and steak fajitas. There was barely any steak or chicken, and the shrimp was dried out and burnt. I am very disappointed with this visit. I think there was only 1 waiter for the entire restaurant. My mango margarita was good.

This was our first time trying El Cerrito Mexican Grill in Rancho off Baseline and it was a delightful experience! The food was so flavorful and the ingredients were fresh. We got the Molcajete Tarasco and it delicious!! Our server Josie was the sweetest and super attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was fun and friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves authentic Mexican food. We will most definitely be back 🙂

Please note this review is about this particular visit to this other location. I have been to the other location currently being remodeled. I usually order a burrito and have never had an issue and normally find the food to be really good.
On this particular trip I ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas largely based on the picture and recommendation of the waitress. Last minute I added chicken so I could try all three proteins – Steak, Chicken and Shrimp.
What came to the table was 80% chicken, some kind of meat (50% of the meat was all a fat piece) and (3) very small shrimp on a mountain of peppers and onions.
I asked the waitress why the portions were so skewed and why was the meat different than pictured. The appetizer also ordered for the table came with the steak as pictured so I’m not sure why the fajitas did not. After asking the kitchen the final answer from the waitress was that was the plate was correct. She was very nice about the whole situation. I don’t believe it’s okay to picture one item and serve another. Here is a picture of what I received alongside the picture from their website of the fajita plate that matches the menu.

Everything tasted the same and was very mediocre, very one – note. The shrimp cocktail I ordered was terrible. It was watered down and the shrimp were very small and tasted fishy. I sent it back. The chips were good but the salsa was lacking. It had no kick whatsoever and was very tomato forward. Our chili verde burrito had very little meat and was very beany. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. It was mine and my husband’s wedding anniversary. I was excited to try this place, but sadly, I don’t recommend it.

I was excited to try this spot, because I miss Salsitas! Ok, they have awesome customer service! I mean, the server Josie was so super sweet. She was very attentive and served with a smile! Thank you Josie! The food I ordered was not great. I had the lunch carne asada tacos. They were not good at all! YUCK! The menu pictures look so delicious! Maybe, I tried the wrong entrée. I will definitely come back, because the menu is beautiful!!! I’ll try something different and update my review!

The only real complaint that I had about this place the last couple of times we were there is that the music is loud for my ears. Other than that , everything was great. Beans were especially tasty. Service is top notch. A bit pricey but what isn’t nowadays. I had another great breakfast with my wife.

We decided to try this location since we were close by and we know the other location on Archibald has great food. Well we were very disappointed from the slow service to the not so great food. First we went on a Sunday around 7pm wasn’t really busy but they took a while to even get our drinks. We order a tostada mixta, steak picado, birria plate and carnitas plate. They bring my tostada out and tell me they’re out of tostadas! Weird that they can’t make a tostada when they’re making corn tortillas right in there but ok. Then my MIL order flour tortillas and they said they’re out of flour tortillas and it will take the lady hours to make another batch and even when she makes them they will be going to the other restaurant! I was very confused with this because how are you going to send tortillas to another restaurant first when you don’t have any at yours? Doesn’t make sense. Lastly the steak picado came cooked with veggies including potatoes that were not cooked like you couldn’t even put the fork in them. When we let the server know he said that’s how they’re suppose to be “crunchy” because they’re sautéed I mean I’m not sure if the server was new or he doesn’t know anything about cooking but if the potatoes are hard they’re not cooked and you shouldn’t serve them like that. I know he was just trying to make things better and the cooking is not his fault but honestly all the excuses he made for the food were poor. Maybe this was just a bad day to go but I don’t think we will be going back to this location. *They also have a credit or debit card surcharge.
