Not recommended! First the building itself is beautiful, obviously old and definitely needs repairs but pretty. The place was pretty dirty also, the candle holders at the table were filthy, table sticky. The service was great, the waitress was friendly and attentive. The food on the other hand was terrible. I got the fish and chips, way overcooked and the fries tasted just like the fish, probably cooked together, the coleslaw had no flavor what so ever. I ate literally 2 bites. The other person with me ordered the pork chop, it came out cold but the apples on top were burning hot. He got a side of chipotle Mac n cheese, it was so spicy he couldn’t eat it.. We left after being charged 2.75 for using our credit card’s which I have never experienced and out 80 dollars plus tip for terrible food and went to the brewery and had lunch again!

This was an accidental side trip that turned out to be a place that we will definitely return to! It’s crazy the places you may miss within an hour of your home. This old home used to be part of the Castle Heights Military School. Whether you are looking for a day date, reunion, wedding rehearsal, or special occasion or just dinner, it’s definitely a special affair. The food is so good. And there was nothing skimpy about the portions or quality of food. I got to speak with the owner Gina for a moment and both her and our server Lena were so kind. We will be back!

A lovely little diamond in the rough! Located on the grounds of the former U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Castle Heights Military Academy, the wonderful Sammy B’s brings a new and refined touch to Southern comfort food. The restaurant itself is located inside the old General’s House upon the hill at the Academy. The walls are richly filled with pictures that contain a vast amount of Southern history.

A bit off the beaten path but was a great find. On location of former military academy this restaurant has a huge menu. Beautiful wooden fully stocked bar. Good parking and plenty of seating indoors and on the patio. Very pleasant and efficient staff!

Driving from TN to SC and wanted a unique local experience and Sammy B’s gave us just that. The building has so much history and is absolutely beautiful, the staff made us feel like family and the overall vibe was top tier. The food, wow, my steak was cooked to perfection the crabby shrooms were so full and delicious, the homemade salad dressing was so good I wanted to take a bottle home! My husband had the lobster roll and said it was mouthwatering. The drinks were strong and flavorful. We will definitely make this our regular spot when traveling this way!

This restaurant is in a beautiful house built in 1902! It is gorgeous! The food was delicious, the portions very big, and the service was awesome. It has a very relaxing and welcoming vibe. You don’t even have to dress up. I absolutely loved the whole experience.❤️

We visited for dinner on Friday with our son and future daughter in law for the first time and had Linda C. As our server. We had such a great time, service and food that my husband and I went back for lunch on Saturday. We had Linda c. Again :). I had the veggie bowl and my husband had the club….we can’t wait to come back. If I may say, your website photos don’t do your food justice 🙂

We held a wonderful rehearsal dinner here. Sabrina helped us plan, and made key recommendations that proved to be perfect at the actual event. The food was great, the guests were happy, and everything went smoothly for our event. The room we had was set up perfectly for our needs. I could not have been more happy with our choice, and I give Sammy B’s my highest recommendation for anyone hosting a similar event.
