The one faulty thing is the fact that the kitchen is kinda open, so you smell what’s being cooked at all times. We had the bad luck to be there as they cooked fish so it was unpleasant but the food more than made up for it.
I never finish the little bean dips that are usually served as you sit at the table. This time, I cleaned out my cup and fought my mom for the rest of hers. They were really tasty.
I ordered the plantain and one pupusa. The plantain was out pretty fast but the pupusa did take over 25 minutes. However, the place was full so it was understandable. The server kept refilling our coffee and waters and made sure we were taken care of as we waited.
All in all a very good experience. Totally recommend!!
No coffee since it was the afternoon :/ but once we got our meals and more patrons walked in the place seemed to lighten up.
The food was delicious but the rice tasted par-boiled… chewy and not what I’m used to when it’s made at home.
Everything else was great, the horchata was not too sweet and the plates we had were great . Check it out.
we had Pupusas cheese and tiger nut milk
We need to remember that a tip is optional, not mandatory. A tip/gratuity is supposed to be token of gratitude for good service. I know now it is used to compensate the staff salaries, I get that, however imposing the gratuity is totally wrong, especially if not announced anywhere.
Now I wonder if the level of service will remain as now staff know the will get the tips not matter of what, so no need to give a good service.
I guess I will stop going to this restaurant just because of that.
Everything was well flavored and their grilled chicken is SO good and the portions were large.
The server was great- very accommodating. Can’t wait to go back when I’m NOT dieting to eat the pupusas and a traditional Salvadorian breakfast.
