Let me start by saying Saltgrass Lake Charles, you got it right today. After a string of bad experiences tied to a former manager named Norma (who is no longer there, thankfully), I decided to give this place another shot. For the record, upper management never contacted me after my prior complaint no apology, no follow-up, nothing. Professionalism was clearly left off their checklist.
But today, Sarah M. made me glad I returned. She was outstanding attentive, friendly, and clearly took pride in her work.
She turned what could’ve been an average dinner into a memorable one. The kitchen also nailed it. My steak was cooked to absolute perfection, sides were fresh, and everything hit the mark.
The team on the floor deserves recognition.
They’re doing the heavy lifting while corporate stays silent. So while management’s response to feedback is still nonexistent, the staff on the ground like Sarah M. are holding it down.

Awesome experience. Ordered the steak and cake to share. Came to the table with meal already divided. Chef took time to sear the cut side to retain the juices! That is caring about what you are putting out there! Checked on by manager to ensure a good experience! Server Kylie was excellent!

This was me and my family’s first time at Salt Grass and let me just say everything was a 5 star. From the setting to the food, and most off the great customer service. Our waitress name was Ted and he was so attentive and made sure that our visit was the best, thanks to this location we enjoyed our experience!

Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal! I told her that we were there to celebrate our 20th anniversary and she surely went out of her way to make us feel super special! The food was top notch and definitely a treat for us. I have no complaints. We would definitely go back again.

The server was very good but I was very disappointed in my 9 oz filet. Though cooked correctly, the cut of meat was extremely poor… i.e., every bite was fatty and very chewy, not tender at all for a filet mignon. Also, salad was drenched in dressing and should have been put on the side as other restaurants do. The chocolate cake was old and stale, and the coffee burnt. I told the waiter about this and though sympathetic, I was still fully charged. Very disappointed, as a steakhouse of this calibur should do much better. Likely will not be coming back.

Visited Golden Nugget in the Lake Charles area for a quick weekend getaway with the wife and was completely blown away. Both days we decided to go to Saltgrass for dinner because the food was just excellent. Our server Ted was super awesome! He always showed up whenever we needed something like he had a sixth sense. Service was on point, vibes were great, and we’re 100% coming back

I booked a reservation for 7:30, the reservation was booked 2-3 weeks ago for 10 people.
We were seated at 7:20 (which was great) we ordered food at 7:45-7:50. We did not receive our food until 9:20.
Our waitress ignored us after we ordered our foods. We asked for updates and got the same answer over and over. We asked the manager received the same generic answer from her, plus she was rude and confrontational.
When the food came out, 3 of our orders were wrong the fries were soggy the steaks were over cooked.
When we asked for checks it took 15-20 mins to receive our checks, unfortunately those were wrong too. We gave up,y party of 10 was unhappy 3 of them left due to the wait.
This happened on 2/15/2026.
Me whole crew will not be eating dinner here the following night, nor at any golden nugget restaurant because of this service.

We are frequent flyers of the Golden Nugget. There is no reason why there should be a long wait at 3pm on a Saturday. I watched at least three to four people who could have seated us. Finally we got seated. Then we were taken to the furthest spot in the restaurant… to sit and wait..more.. Do better Saltgrass, this is not acceptable.
