Was lucky enough to be going through town on St Patrick’s day. My son and I both got the fish and chips and it was amazing! Don’t usually get fish that good without going to the seacoast. Good size serving and more fries than I could eat and the coleslaw was very good also. Service was excellent for as busy as they were. Price was decent for the quality of the meal.

This place has always been awesome! Once in a while, the service can be hit or miss, especially when the place is booming. But, the waitstaff is amazing and friendly! The food is always spot on, the corn beef, chili, and beef stew are legendary and made in house! It’s the place to be on St. Patrick’s Day, or any day you want a great meal, and ice cold beer!

My dining experience this week at Salt Hill Pub was enjoyed by myself and twenty-four of my friends. The beauty of this historic brick building, which sits along the Sugar RIver in downtown Newport, is charming. The manager, Joe, and his staff were very helpful in planning this evening. Kitchen staff served delicious dinners, which all arrived at the same time after our delicious beverages, I highly recommend the Pineapple Sangria. Our waitress, Crystal, did an amazing job waiting on our group she was calm, efficient, and friendly. The atmosphere in the upstairs bar was warm and cozy. I had fish and chips, which were delicious and the best I’ve ever had.

I used to love going here, but my experience here yesterday was disappointing. Ordered the bacon tots for an appetizer, there was almost no bacon, far from what it uses to be. Ordered a blue hawaiin drink and there was no pineapple alcohol in it, to the point where the drink was dark blue. The only thing that came out right was the burger, the fries seemed like they were frozen. I cant recommend this place anymore.

Best food in the entire region. Had the fish and chips. I would drive all the way from Jaffrey just to eat here. I am going to try the Rueben next time and the Jameson burger the time after that. Highly recommend!!!!!

I haven’t been to a salt hill location that I haven’t wanted to prematurely walk out on since before the pandemic. The service is absolutely terrible. Every time I go I end up getting ignored and frustrated and last night was no different. I understand being busy but blatantly ignoring people is just rude. Be better.
