Decided to try this place while in Cape Charles and was very pleased. Lots of different menu items….salads, sandwiches, burgers. I went with the cheeseburger and sweet potato waffle fries. Cooked to order and one of the best burgers I’ve eaten. Friend had a huge salad. All very fresh and homemade. Next time try this place when you are looking for friendly place with great food.

Our first time visiting here since it opened. Make sure you have at least an hour to wait for your food before you go. I also do not recommend the cheese steak. The taste was ok, but see the portions in my photos. About 50% of my untoasted sub was empty. Everything else our group got seemed to be pretty good. The burger patties are pretty big. Now for the service, I don’t like to be negative, but something needs to change there. The server was just standing around talking, and more than once, we had to go ask for refills at the counter. There aren’t many options for family restaurants in Cape Charles, so we may possibly give this another try next year when we return. We visited June 6 around 1pm.

Amazing food! My 14 year old who is in football who eats 6000 calories a day couldn’t finish the double cheeseburger. Thwr wings and sides were amazing. The waitress was sweet and accommodating. If you are a family who likes to experiance great food I would highly recommend. We went on Wednesday and they had dollar wings that were huge. The building was cute and the ambiance wasn’t exactly eclectic but they won me over with their service.

Low key place with a good menu. I was surprised when I ordered a dozen wings with a side. They asked me if I wanted them breaded. Wasn’t sure what they meant, but I said sure. They came out and were huge. I’ve been to Buffalo and had Buffalo wings. Ive been to buffalo wild wings. These were way better! I had to ask for a side of blue cheese, but, man…. the wings! $16. I’ve paid way more for what I just got. If you’re looking for wings give this a try!

Would like to say today was an off day but it seems a few other reviews confirm that our experience was similar to some others. Ordered and waited for about 45 mins for our food. Saw a few carry out orders go and none of the other tables (5) that were sat before us get their food. We just ended up cancelling our order and going next door to AJ’s.

This is usually the first place I go when I visit Cape Charles. It’s nothing fancy, but the bathrooms are clean, and I get a stomach full of good food before heading to the beach. The broccoli puffs and the sweet potato waffle fries are always part of my order. Check it out the next time you’re there.

Went here today only because the place we wanted was closed. Asked for my sub to be toasted and they only toasted the bread. Also my sub came out way after my onion rings and my husbands burger. It was ok but way over priced. The mozzarella bites were ok just warm and the marinara however good it was in a store bought sealed container so not made there considering the price of them! Waited awhile for the server to come to the table to take our order. As she was standing in a doorway talking. It was raining outside and as I was boxing up my food I started to get rained on inside! Flys were bad too.

Salt and Sand is located in the small yet beautiful and peaceful town of Cape Charles. I thoroughly enjoyed the town and the restaurant. For me, there are always two factors I consider when dining somewhere new: quality and portion size. Salt and Sand provided both. The quality of the fried catfish, cabbage, and sweet potato fries was on point. And the portion size was huge! I usually finish my meals in one sitting, but I had to take the rest to go. Furthermore, the quality of service was wonderful as well. Our waitress was great. I hope to return soon.

We were riding through and needed a place to get food for the kids as well. Waitress was super helpful letting us know that the cheeseburger my son was ordering was wayyyyy to big for him. And she was right. It was way too big for me. Lol
