The food was too salty. I ordered the blackened red fish, and I had scrape off the seasoning because it was so salty. When I told the waitress, she didn’t do anything. I also ordered a platter to go, which was much better than the blackened fish, and the portion was better also. If you go, I would recommend the platter, and if you do have an issue with the food, ask for management directly. I spent $50 for the two meals. If I did it again, I would have just gotten the platter and been done.

An older place with awesome sweet tea, fried catfish, fried oysters, fried shrimp, fried yellow squash (just like I make at home with cornmeal) and baked potatoes! We shared the fried platter and both got full, and still ate the 2nd strangest peach cobbler I ever had. The dough/not crust/not crumble was chopped up as fine as rice. The peaches were delicious, it was a bit too too sweet. (Not a comment I have ever made before!) Definitely would return.

This is our second time eating here. The wait time wasn’t long at all. The fried crab claws were on point! I had the BBQ shrimp. It was seasoned very well. I dipped my hushpuppy in the juice and the heat from it did hit me in the back of my throat. So if you’re not into heat, maybe that dish isn’t for you. The shrimp aren’t spicy but the juice has a little heat. My husband had the Seafood Platter. You can choose either grilled or fried. He picked fried. He said it was really good. I also loved the potato salad. It was a loaded potato salad and it was delicious. The servers were polite and friendly. We’ll be back again.

Sal and Phil’s is one of my favorite places to order food! The food is always made hot and fresh to order. Everything I’ve ever tried here is absolutely DELICIOUS!! The Poboys are the best! My favorite poboys are the crayfish and shrimp! Their catfish is the BEST catfish I’ve had around Jackson and their crawfish etoffee is on point EVERY SINGLE TIME!! Their customer service is also another reason I choose Sal and Phil’s because they are very nice, polite, helpful and professional !!

I haven’t been here in ages but the fried oysters were cooked to perfection. The bread pudding was so yummy it was more than I could eat had to bring home my greens and hush puppies that I plan on eating for lunch tomorrow because it’s just that good. My husband got the Roast beef poboy with gravy it was messy and good just like he likes it. Everything was delicious the service was great our waitress was very nice and stayed on top of drinks and napkins or whatever we needed the main thing she was very friendly which makes w huge difference these days so she needs a huge raise The chef ‍ who cooked the oysters needs even a bigger raise. We will be returning when in town it was a wonderful experience for my husband visiting here for my husband visiting here fir the first time although it’s been atleast 20 yrs since I’ve been here I would recommend to anyone who wants some good fried oysters or just food period. WILL BE RETURNING!!!!

It was very cold so I was uncomfortable. However service was attentive and timely. I wasn’t impressed with the flounder dinner but my companions loved their big shrimp.
