It show that they open by 4:30pm . We are in line 15 minutes early to make sure we can seat . Because when we call earlier around 1:20pm to have lunch . They told us not to come because they busy and better come by 4:30pm instead . So we went as they advice us but this happen . We stand long time in the line line almost one hours ( 45 minutes ) . Went we got seated , we wait another almost 20 minutes just to have drinks. Then we wait another almost 10 minutes just to start you eat . This is the best part , you can just order three item one a time . So if you calculate how many times you can ask food , not much until you totally lost your appetite . I recommend this place not to go. I told to my wife that this is the most place I ever been go out to eat . Guys think twice before you go it’s scam.try it do you know what im saying .

I recently visited Sakura Sushi & Hibachi in Kapolei, located within the Ka Makana Aliʻi shopping center, one of the main dining and retail hubs on Oʻahu’s west side. Restaurants in this area tend to balance convenience with variety, and Sakura Sushi & Hibachi offers a dining experience that blends the energy of hibachi-style cooking with a full sushi menu.

The atmosphere is lively and family-friendly. The restaurant includes both traditional table seating and hibachi grill stations where chefs prepare meals directly in front of guests. The hibachi area adds an interactive element to the experience, often accompanied by the familiar theatrical cooking techniques that make this style of dining entertaining for groups.

The menu is broad and designed to appeal to a wide range of diners. Sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi form the sushi side of the menu, while hibachi meals typically feature grilled steak, chicken, seafood, and vegetables cooked on the flat-top grill. The combination of sushi and hibachi makes it easy for groups to order different styles of Japanese cuisine during the same visit.

Service during the visit felt efficient and accommodating, which is important in a restaurant that manages both traditional dining and hibachi table service. Staff maintained a welcoming tone while keeping the pace of the meal moving smoothly.

From a global travel perspective, hibachi-style restaurants like this are reminiscent of the Japanese teppanyaki dining experiences that have spread internationally to cities such as Los Angeles, Sydney, and Singapore. While the style has evolved into its own form of entertainment dining, it continues to reflect the theatrical side of Japanese grill cooking.

Terrible AYCE experience. Service is painfully slow (especially between rounds). The nigiri is just a giant ball of rice with a sliver of meat, and the rolls are incredibly bland. The miso soup tasted like grainy, instant powder. If the best part of your meal is the wasabi clearing your sinuses, you know you’re in trouble. Easily the worst sushi I’ve found on the island. Don’t waste your time.

Love the atmosphere and renovation. Food had pretty good flavor. I had #7 lunch special. Small portion for the price. For $25 you get 2 once of steak and 1 once of baked salmon grilled veggie, soup, and toss greens.
Next time I’ll just stick to the lunch wagon meals for $14 huge portions. Carls lunch wagon back roads barbers pt.

We were looking for great sushi in Kapolei & we found it for sure! Great drinks, good appetizers & excellent sushi rolls. The shumai were so succulent. The calamari was a little dry, could have used a different dipping sauce. But the rolls were excellent! Very filling & tasty.

Called to place a takeout order for the second time 2 days in a row and I couldn’t place a takeout order they weren’t even closed yet I still had 30mins to spare before they actually close which in customer service your supposed to take all customers until the last minute so if the website/google says you close at 230 your last walk in/orders you should be taken at exactly 230 if your not taking no orders before you actual closing time then the website/google should say 2pm or whatever you guys are NOT taking no more orders! It’s very confusing and frustrating because i just wanted a salad for takeout but the kitchen was already closed but technically based on there website and google they are still open. Food is amazing here and is 10/10 but customer service is NOT sometimes the main host lady can be very rude and she doesn’t seem like she wants to help you and this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this many times throughout the years I had this bad customer service but I keep coming back because I’m a very nice and understanding person but I’m only putting a review about this now because I’m tired of the junk customer service Definitely going to the pearlcity location from now on even though I live in Kapolei.

As soon as we walked it felt like the host was trying to rush us. Never let us finish talking and would walk away before we even finished asking him questions. Also food came out very slowly. There’s a 90 minute time limit for the all you can eat menu, however each order takes 30 minutes to come out. We only had two rounds of sushi. We were sat at 1130 and our appetizers came at 1230 and our first round at like 1. Even our one drink that we had came at 130. It’s very obvious that staff were not trained well as we had the waiter come to our table asking if other people’s food was our order. We personally didn’t think it was worth the wait

This place is so amazing! We have been coming here for the last 3 years when we visit from the mainland. Every time we come, the service is great and the food is outstanding.

Our chef tonight was Joe and he was phenomenal. The food was prepared amazingly and he was very conscious of some dietary restrictions of our group and did a great job accommodating that. He was a whole vibe that we all enjoyed.
He set the bar high for whomever we get when we return. The music playing there is so fun! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone!

I’m very split on this review as the contrasting experiences I had really makes it difficult to give the rating the store probably deserves. The food provided looked like it could be amazing (after reheating… I’ll get to that), but the process to get to that was intolerable.
We ordered from the restaurant for delivery, direct through the restaurant’s preferred delivery service (BeyondMenu). Ordering itself was easy, though you’re required to download the BM app in order to follow your order (track). I did so, and all seemed good to go. The delivery was scheduled for within 45 minutes. Unfortunately, that would not hold true. After over an hour, the “tracking” showed the delivery “on the way”, but the icon for the driver had been sitting at the restaurant for almost 20 minutes by this point. I called the restaurant and was told that the food was given to the driver 15 minutes prior to my call, and to call back in 20 minutes (if the order had not been delivered yet, they would “see what they could do.”)
25 minutes passed with no delivery, so I called BM support (they are ABSOLUTELY worthless, and the interactions I had with them brought me to the point that I was wondering if the whole thing was a scam! Yea… THAT bad!) After speaking with BM “support”, I called the restaurant back (it’s been over an hour and a half now) and a manager was put on the phone. I explained my concern (the pin for the driver STILL hadn’t moved from the restaurant) and my discomfort with what was occurring (food quality, hundreds spent without my food, etc) and the manager said nothing and the call disconnected (no, I was not being an a-hole). Tried calling back… busy… busy… busy. I guess the manager didn’t have the time to back up their food and service.
I called BM support again, and was told they would reach out to the driver (which they did, and the driver eventually contacted me… nice guy too!) The order was “on the way” (still… for almost an hour now… we were 11 minutes away).
BM support, as well as the restaurant, could care less about the quality, whether it would be ice cold, or if there could be an issue that food being delivered was in someone’s possession for over an hour before they eventually moved. The only “support” I received was a refund of the delivery fee, and they took away the tip I left for the driver.
The food eventually showed up, and it looked like it would be INCREDIBLE, but it was in fact ice cold and given the circumstances, I could not verify if the food was properly handled (why was it in someone’s possession that long). Given the totality of the situational circumstances we chose to throw out over $200 worth of food to be safe. Big hit, but I’m NOT taking chances.
So… I’m torn. It really looks like it would be incredible, but the service provided was atrocious!
I’d probably give it another try… ON SITE ONLY… if it weren’t for the service provided by the restaurant that SHOULD be backing up their product.
If you order, DO NOT USE BEYONDMENU! While BM allows these businesses to have more control on external platforms (a good thing), this particular platform… apparently used by only a VERY small number of restaurants in this area, is horrible.
I really wish I had a better experience, but actions speak louder than words, and this restaurant simply does not seem customer experience focused.
