I’m writing this review after 5 years of experiences at Sakana. This restaurant is consistent, has fresh fish and salads. We love the sushi and also we take out poke bowls as a favorite! Good quality, very consistent.

I’ve lived in Reno for a while now, and hands down this is one of my favorite sushi restaurants. The atmosphere when you walk in is awesome! Service is really good and the sushi is delicious! Freddy, Michelle and Brian all do an excellent job! Try this place out, you won’t regret it.

Food was amazing loved the deep fried, but service was bad, had to wait 25 min till someone came by to ask for are drinks and are order. Waited another 15 minutes till they brought are drinks, and when the food came we were missing some items, they told it’ll come out soon but ended up never getting them at the end. Also once we finished are first batch of rolls, we wait 35 minutes to order another order of rolls but no one came up to are table and ignored us. I had to ask for my check and waited another 7 minutes till I had to get up and hand them the check. Even tho the rolls were good I believe this will be the last time eating here

Sushi was great, muscles were dry, ramen was 3/5 from what I heard. Although all you can eat menu was a bit confusing but they did the best they could with organization as they have tons of food to choose from; enjoyed all of their roles we ordered and presentation was top tier. They had one person working as a hostess and server she hustled and managed to handle all tables but that lacked the service quality.

Service overall was subpar.
My waitress didn’t understand me well (some language misunderstanding) and didn’t tell me until 20 Minutes after I was seated that the kitchen was about to “close” for the night. I had less than 30 minutes to order from the menu and finish eating.
Had she stated that when I had walked in, I would have ordered the “hot foods” and other items.
The food itself wasn’t bad, although the unagi and tuna nigiri didn’t look ‘fresh’ or hydrated.
They should extend their hours on Friday and the weekend.
It is not a bad local sushi spot, but they can improve on some aspects of their operations, service and quality.

Wow, what a tasty Poke Bowl they make, especially with the sushi-rice option! The banana ice cream dessert is good too, but have an appetite if you do both! We watched a bit of delicious looking sushi be delivered to some other tables while we were eating our poke bowls, gotta try the sushi next time!

There was only one server/staff on duty during my visit and she was spread thin servicing both of the dining rooms.
I was understanding of this as she was not able to be too attentive of all the dining patrons as well as attending to takeout orders.
Inspite of this, she was jovial and friendly.
My Shashimi was good, although the albacore was not as fresh and seemed a bit old and ripe.
The Salmon skin salad was really good and refreshing.
Mussels appetizer and its sauce had good light flavor and texture.
The calamari was too breaded and bit greasy.
The Rainbow hand roll was fresh.
