Street-market soul. Royal-kitchen discipline. Saffron is the Indian restaurant in San Carlos where spices roast at dawn, tandoor breads land blister-hot, and curries simmer low until they settle into memory. This is Indian food that feels personal, not processed, with butter chicken, daal makhani, and charcoal-kissed naan made the long way. Come for a weeknight Indian dinner, a spontaneous date night, or to share home-level flavor with visiting family. Dine in, pick up, or send catering to your table. Locals say this is where Indian food finally feels right in San Carlos. Come taste India, not a translation.
Restaurant with a seasonal take on Northern Indian fare presented in chic, sophisticated surrounds.

I tried the brunch thali which was generous, good variety of dishes, and very filling. The chaat starters were excellent, and the biryani is a must-order! deeply flavorful and aromatic. Haven’t tasted such a delicious biryani in a long time. Easily one of the better-quality Indian restaurants in this area.
The ambiance is clean, spacious, and comfortable, with outdoor seating available. Service is polite and friendly. Overall, very good value for money.
Coming to food – food is uniquely presented. Chaat was beautifully presented on a papad with microgreens and butterfly cutout, but chana jor garam in the chaat was a little soggy. Latte art on the malai kofta was great, and it tasted very rich. Kulfi also tasted good!
Waiter who took our order was so nice and cool.
Food was delicious. And presentation was amazing.
Small but cozy restaurant we came all the way from North bay and it didn’t disappoint us at all.
Closest best Indian restaurant to Half bay moon ..
While they all were delectable, my favourites were the sizzling chicken and the gulab jamun. Highly recommend this restaurant!
