Founded in 1999, Sabor Latino has been providing Athens with a taste of Mexico in serving the community authentic and handmade food. Join us soon! Since 1999, a few people decided to board a food truck and try their hand at making burritos and tacos for the chicken plant workers in Athens. 20 years later, Sabor Latino has won the hearts and stomachs of new diners and long-time guests, from near and far. Love the in house hot sauce. Beautiful location with a wonderful staff. Lots of food options and everything was very good. I went simple with shrimp and rice combo and street tacos I am a sucker for. Everything was great. The inhouse spicy sauce was really good. Could of course be hotter. I like fire. I really enjoyed the food and the staff, a wonderful place to have some good food and relax.

Very sneaky. I went in and paid for the same thing I always get. But I noticed that the price was higher. I asked them if they’ve raised their prices. The lady said no. I looked closer at the screen and someone had picked 20% tip. Or you have a preset with a 20% tip. This was takeout. If I wouldn’t have looked, I would’ve given you a 20% tip for takeout without knowing it ! If your Merchant service provider is advising this – don’t take their advice! You’re better than this.

Food was old, rice is mushy and overcooked. The chicken and rice is a tiny portion (kids size) for the price, imo. I ordered a side of chips and cheese, I got 1/4 of a small brown paper sack of chips for the cheese. And paid almost $20 for the order. I asked multiple times on the phone for green sauce in my order, got home- no green sauce. lol…. now I remember why I don’t go here

Sabor Latino Taqueria offers great ice cream and a large selection of Mexican food. All three types of salsa are great with the chips and on several food items.
I highly recommend Los Tres Compadres. It is a combination of Chicken, Steak, Shrimp, Rice and Queso. In addition grab some Jamaica to drink with the meal and Cookie Monster ice cream or churro loco for dessert. You won’t be disappointed!

(Chicken Chessy Rice ) $12.99 for what looks like a kids portion. Very disappointed. The Chichen was dry and if it wasn’t dry it’s because it was fatty . You get a tiny cup of cheese and a small portion of rice . Next time I’ll go elsewhere.

I’ve had negative experiences in the past with my orders being incorrect and the person taking the call being rude.
Recently, I decided to give them another try after they came to my workplace and reminded me how good their tacos are. Today, I was craving one of their tortas, so I called in and placed an order. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The chicken was so tough it was inedible—almost like cardboard—and the avocado inside was black.
I called to let the manager know about the issue, but she was quite dismissive and showed little concern about the poor quality of the food. I’m frustrated and sad that I wasted both time and money, only to end up throwing the food away.

Don’t think I’ll be coming back here …barely passed a passing score on kitchen cops …I don’t care for some of the attitudes of the workers here especially about drink refills …seem kinda greedy about it…some of the workers upfront attitudes sucks ..

Good food. Nice atmosphere. I normally call in an order to pick up during my lunch break and, for the majority of the time, it’s hot and ready when I arrive. Consuelo (I think that’s how you spell her name?) has always been friendly and polite when I visit, and I really appreciate her. She’s great! The other employees are okay, but their attitudes are definitely lackluster. Especially one or two of the other girls, but I don’t know their names. Other than that, I do recommend the food.
