Took a slight detour on a trip to get some good carryout, and best decision I’ve ever made. Southern perfection. High quality. I could eat those collards every day. The yams are perfection. Chicken is huge, tender, cooked perfectly. Felt like the bag weighed 10lb carrying out the two boxes. We grazed for a while and the way it was packaged kept it hot for well over a half hour as we ate in the car. We both have leftovers and worth the price. Wasn’t hard to find it, we pulled around to the back side mall entrance, able to park right there, and walked in and around the corner to it. Highly recommended from a southern girl who loves collard greens and sweet tea and isn’t cut out for the north.

It doesn’t get any better than this! Growing up in NY and trying soul food in different places this had to be the best I’ve had! Customer service is amazing! The whiting had so much flavor and the Mac and cheese is fire can’t wait to go back again to this gem of a place!

***Amazing***, and I do mean that. Breading on the fish (+ hubby’s pork chops and daughter’s tenders) was clearly homemade, well seasoned, and was not greasy from frying. Macaroni and cheese is moist without being dry nor runny, and you get a really good taste of cheese already on the first bite. Collards are not salty like from the can, well seasoned without being too hot-spicy, and cooked with excellent smokey meat (smoked turkey?). We’ve just tasted the cabbage, and daughter’s reaction was, quote, “Oh my, that’s really good!” Plates are huge too. And if you’re looking for a meal of *good* food to take home to the family for proper dinner, I highly recommend Soulicious as an option. That’s exactly what I intend to do.

My lady and I heard about this place from a friend so we decided to drop by and try it out. I noticed that they had a Fried Catfish Sandwich so I ordered that to test out their menu.
When I tell you that it was one of the best catfish sandwiches that I have had in my life, I am not kidding.
The size of the sandwich was a surprise and the bread was 4 rolls that were connected but cut in half. The rolls were so soft, it was like they were just baked and the fish was not greasy at all. However it was crispy along the edges and it tasted amazing.
I intend to go back with the family so they can try out their fried catfish sandwich as well. I would have taken a photo but I ate it too fast.
One thing to make note of is that the food is made to order so there is a little bit of a wait but it is worth it.

My friend and I went here on a Thursday evening, based on the reviews we read. I had the whiting w greens and he had whiting w mac & cheese. Everything was very flavorful and well seasoned. I did have a slight issue w my greens because they were to spicy for me. It’s quite possible they weren’t really spicy at all, but my tolerance for spice is pretty much nonexistent…… can’t handle the smallest amounts. Anyway, the owners saw me struggling and gave me a side of yams. They also were delicious and not too sweet. We had an awesome experience and pray their business prospers immensely. God bless this family!

This restaurant has the BEST FOOD and the friendliest and kindest owners! We have followed them for years, and never had a meal we weren’t incredibly pleased with and had leftovers! Every time you walk in, you feel like family and have a delicious meal! Never disappoints!

If you want some home cooked food, this is gonna be the spot to go for me. I love the Mac & cheese, collard greens and fried chicken it has great flavor with very generous portions I had the fried ribs as well last week and those are a knockout . Nothing is sitting out it’s all warm and hot ready for you to tear it up! The hospitality is also great please give this place the business so they can stay around for a while I promise you won’t regret coming here for some grub!
