One night, we had a dinner reservation at Ryan’s and it was amazing! The service was top notch, the food divine, and the restaurant itself is small, beautiful, and full of flair. My duck breast was one of the best I’ve ever had — perfectly seared and cooked to perfection. My husband had steak with mashed potatoes and green beans, and he was equally impressed. We can’t wait to return to Ryan’s to try more items!

Great location, amazing staff, delicious food, and unforgettable experiences — Dublin, we’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I loved the lively Irish pub atmosphere! The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome. Our Sunday roasts were a bit pricey at €30 , and weren’t anything to write home about.

Overall, the experience was truly enjoyable.

I made an 8:00 PM reservation at this restaurant, which closes at 10:00 PM. My food arrived at 8:16 PM. Earlier in the evening, I specifically asked my waitress if I would have enough time to eat since I noticed I was the only guest left. She assured me I was completely fine.

At 9:07 PM — while I still had half my plate and was clearly eating — she asked if I was done. When I said no, she pointed out that I was the only one left and mentioned there was a two-hour table limit and that I already have had the table for a long time. She even checked the time and realized it was only 9:07 PM, meaning I had been there just over an hour. She then said I was “fine until 10.”

After that, a male staff member repeatedly walked by and gave lingering looks that made it obvious I was being rushed. Imagine trying to enjoy your meal while someone comes by every few minutes to glance at your plate. It creates an uncomfortable pressure that makes it difficult to relax or enjoy the food.

When I paid my bill at 9:42 PM, he asked how everything was. I calmly said the food was fine but I felt rushed after just an hour. He responded, “No, stay as long as you’d like.” At that point, I was already paying and preparing to leave. Immediately afterward, he said something loudly toward the kitchen in another language, repeating the word “rushed” in English in a mocking tone — clearly referring to me.

The entire experience felt unwelcoming and unprofessional. If 8:00 PM reservations are too late for the staff, they simply shouldn’t be offered. Guests should not feel pressured, stared at, or rushed for dining within posted hours.

Customer experience should not disappear just because they are the last table of the night.

We had a wonderful meal at Ryan’s of Parkgate Street (FX Buckley). There were three of us and all agreed the fillet steaks were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. We started with oysters and gambas, both fresh and full of flavour. The sides were excellent too — chestnut mushrooms, onion rings, green beans and creamy mash potatoes all complemented the mains beautifully. Both the starters and main courses were fabulous, and the service really stood out: attentive, friendly and full of great recommendations. We skipped dessert but finished with coffee and brandy, which rounded off a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommended.

I know this pub from many years ago. And it’s still GREAT!!! I first ate here about 8-9 years ago. When someone visited us, this place was on the list of places to eat if we were talking about a gastropub. And it was always great. After many years, we returned to Dublin and took our first steps here. 100 percent success! Since we had dinner with friends, we only took a little something this time. But since I always want to try a lot, I ordered three small dishes. Small, but huge in taste! Wonderful, wonderful, no comment… I enjoyed every bite.
