We had a wonderful experience at Rustic River Restaurant! The setting is absolutely beautiful, right along the river with peaceful views that make the perfect backdrop for a relaxing meal. The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, with just the right touch of rustic charm.

This place blew me away. Every dish we had was delicious—from the steak to the pulled pork potato bomb (yes, that’s a thing). The bartender, who also served us, was fun, friendly, and incredibly attentive. The vibe is warm and relaxed, and you can’t beat the setting—right on the river, with peaceful views and a cozy, woodsy feel. Honestly, this might be my favorite meal I’ve ever had dining out in Tazewell. We’ll definitely be back.

Food was wonderful but I want to brag on the staff. My child is special needs and a little waitress name Bailey was very kind and patient with him. She went above and beyond for him. Her making my child’s experience a good one made my dining experience even better. As far as the food the pulled pork nachos are so yummy and the catfish plater was really good. The fried green matters and crab cakes were my favorite!!!

Had really high hopes for this place from the reviews and the pictures of the food.
However, the pizza came out cold, and apparently (from the looks of it) it wasn’t done. *see pictures*
Not only my food was cold, but most of everyone’s meal Luke warm. As if they cooked everyone’s meal one by one and the food sat out for a long time while they completed the entire order. Not sure that’s what happened, but just a guess.
The atmosphere was great.
The service was okay. People are nice, they keep the drinks full. Just waited a while for the food to come out.
I get everyone has an off night. Might try again in the distant future and will edit review if things are better. Let’s hope 🙂

What fun watching people kayak & tube down the river as we ate our scrumptious lunch. Next visit we plan on renting kayaks & having the kayak co transport us 4 miles up the river before we eat on the lovely porch. Highly recommend ❤️

Went here for the first time last week. Had heard really good things about it for quite some time. The atmosphere is nice with a deck overlooking the river. The service was very friendly and helpful. We had the pretzel sticks for an appetizer and they were very good. Our food arrived promptly and it was exactly what we had ordered. Our meals were well made and delicious and the sweet tea was on point. I reccomend giving them a try, I’ll definitely be going back.

Hannah was a great server! She was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was good but my husbands burger and my steak tips both came out well done although they were ordered medium rare. I forgot to get a picture of the pretzel app which was very good. The river brownie was delicious!

My hubby & I stopped here on our way home to Del Rio, TN from KY. We are so happy we did!! The food was delicious! We ordered the fried green tomatoes app & the House Special pizza. Both were delicious & the best we”ve ever had! The service was superb!! We highly recommend this restaurant!

What a gem in the rough!!!
This is a restaurant located back a long drive, past a kayak rental shop, along the Powell River. Thankfully, there are large signs on 25E and along the gravel drive, or we would have missed the turn and/or given up the long drive before we reached the restaurant. SO glad we kept going. The atmosphere is very rustic. Everything is wood. It sits right along the river with the covered deck looking over the water. It’s such pleasant surroundings that you wish you could stretch out the meal for several hours, just to enjoy dining in nature.
Angie was our server. She had a great, friendly personality and made our dining experience all the more enjoyable by making us feel like visiting friends, rather than just another couple of customers.
The food was delicious. I had catfish and broccoli. Angie did give me a sampling of pea salad when I asked about it. It was good, but the broccoli sounded better at the time. My husband got the burger and fries.
I’m glad we didn’t settle for a fast food restaurant closer to our hotel. Many of the restaurants in the area are closed on Sundays, or Sundays and Mondays, leaving fast food as the only choice. We searched for restaurants with Sunday hours and found this prize. We’re likely to return on our next trip to the area.
