I’m totally disappointed !! I paid 25 for a plate I couldn’t even eat this.. meatloaf was tough mashed potatoes no n I couldn’t even believe this the macaroni was like this.. smh we gotta do better.

This was my first time to this restaurant (my sister had been before). I ordered the fried chicken wings/Mac n cheese and black eye peas. Peas horrible chicken wings/Mac n cheese ok. Brother fried fish/potato salad and black eye peas. Peas horrible/fish and potato salad good. Sister- fried catfish/cabbage and coleslaw slaw. She loved her meal. Waitress was lifeless and uninterested. Might return and order differently.

Chef Samantha is guaranteed to see us at least once a week! We are always greeted with warmth and great customer service. We’ve tried most items on the menu. What we love most is that the sides are not just sides but they have the flavor profile to stand alone if desired. We don’t have a personal favorite, as they are all delicious, but our toddler absolutely loves the mashed potato’s and gravy and could probably eat an entire large by herself! The team at Get’cha Right absolutely LOVES Just Like Mama’s and we will tell anyone who will listen. Finding flavorful soul food that taste like Mama’s is hard nowadays but not here!

This place was recommended by a co-worker. There were kids manning the counter and serving. The restaurant was not crowded for a Friday around 3:15 p. m., but we waited for a good while just to get the order in. I ordered Coke and got tea. I wanted the salmon, but they were out. I ordered the fried chicken instead. The server said she thought it came with 3 pieces, but it was only 2. Got a thigh and drumstick with black-eyed peas and okra and tomatoes. I added coleslaw. My Wife got fried Perch with macaroni and cheese and green beans. We both got cornbread. We got our food at 4. Both the fish and chicken were not flavorful and both tasted as though they were cooked in old grease. I did like the okra and tomatoes, but that was it out of all of our selections. We wanted to love this place and come back again, but that was the case. It was expensive for the food and experience.

They catered the food for my daughter’s celebration of life – repass in January a few doors down and everyone loved it! My heart was hurting for the loss of my child and not having any idea where I would get food from I stumbled along a blessing. The staff were incredible and the chef/ owner was compassionate, friendly, empathetic and extremely helpful! I would recommend this place because the food is delicious and it feels like home as soon as you walk in the door at least that was my experience and for that I’m grateful. Thank you kindly.

I love my people but what I don’t like is false advertising. My husband and I came to this place based on what we saw on Instagram. The food looked so good. When we arrived, we decided we were going to take our food to go. There was a young girl at the register that was not welcoming at all. It was very weird. The total for one meal alone came up to $27 which to me made no sense but being that we came to support the business and we’re already there we just paid it. We were very very disappointed. The mac & cheese looked nothing like what we saw on their page like they didn’t feel like making it that day. I ordered Whiting and it was OK. The food tasted like they did not feel like cooking. One of the ladies in the kitchen was very sweet, but other than that, I don’t think we’re gonna come back

If you haven’t tried Just Like Mama’s, stop what you are doing and come right now! The food is really like your mama cooked it- straight from the heart. The atmosphere is relaxed and the sounds of gospel music fill the air. Everything we tried was outstanding and we plan to return soon. We have found our new soul food spot. Praying for longevity and increase for this business. Mama is the sweetest, too!
