Russ Ayres Hot Dogs

I love hot dogs but I’m more of a crispy fried dog. If you like boiled dogs, then this is the place for you. The toppings on the other hand are excellent! You can get the dogs fried on request but its still not the same and doesn’t make it that much crispier. I’ll have to try having them run it thru the fryer twice. Cool atmosphere outside and in. Plenty of seating and the service is excellent!! Thanks!!

Good food! The hotdogs are relatively cheap (in a good way meaning price), have tons of different topping options. And they also have a good selection of bottled drinks. The service is quick and the fries are very good. There is only seating for 5 inside the store, but there is way more outside the building. Good amount of parking and the staff is nice.

So disappointed because the place looked promising. But this is the worst hot dog I have ever had. I love boiled hot dogs but this thing is raw. Taste like they took it out of the pack and just put it on the bun. Also for the price they barely give any chili. Could have honestly gotten a better hot dog at Wawa. Would give 0 stars if I could.

The Local Guide

Drove by this place many times but this was the first time I decided to try their Famous hot dogs. Boy!! Don’t waste your money. It’s just a normal pork hot dog. Nothing more than your average ballpark dog with toppings. So sad they boil the dogs. At $3.50 each you would have better options. Costco @ $1.50 for a larger dog and drink, or Wawa @ $2 for a better tasting dog. The fries were the only thing good.

A hidden gem! The building is small and there is alot of old cool stuff inside. The employees are really nice and got the food out to us real fast! Very good glizzys fasho! Would go back for more and to sit outside!

I got the urge to find a spot with a good chilli-cheese dog. close by I found this small yet quality little hot dog hut and I got an amazing chilli-cheese dog! It’s a small humble roadside spot that offers outdoor seating (no indoor) but great food! My wife grabbed up two loaded Italian dogs with pepper, onions and potatos and she enjoyed them tremendously! The fries were made fresh to order, crunchy and amazing and it was all around a great spot for a lunch date!

Decided to stop in and check it out…..

Clean inside and out.

The standard hot dogs are a combination of beef and pork per the Cashier.

If you want an all Beef hot dog, you will have to ask them to put them in the fryer for you. That’s what we did.

Got 3 hot dogs, an order of fries, and an order of onion rings. The food was hot and tasty. Bread was warm and condiments were fresh. If you’re looking for a quick bite, be sure to stop in. The Bordentown Creamery is behind it……

I like the quirky summer boardwalk feel of the place. The hotdogs were ok. I’ve tried some fantastic hotdogs in the city and north Jersey so for me, this place was just ok, it felt a little bland to me. To be fair, I ordered plain dogs for the kiddos so I can’t speak for the toppings and extras. There’s an ice cream shop in the rear which is super cute for summer treats. The coolest part about this place is the outdoor
seating with huge colorful Adirondack chairs
