Just moved to the Jersey City area and Saigon Cafe is one of the first places we’ve tried… it did not disappoint! We started with the curry puffs which were 10/10 (I would go back just for these lol). I ordered the tamarind soup with salmon & it reminded me of a dish my mom makes… so good. My bf got the marinated pork from the noodle entrée section which tasted amazing. We also loved the tamarind margaritas and the taro dumpling dessert (mochi-like texture w/ a sweet coconut broth). Everything tasted authentic & comforting. Service was 10/10 and the staff gave great recommendations. Definitely coming back!

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Jersey City. Whenever people come to visit me I make sure to bring them by. The manager Steve is great and his family are very nice, kind, and personable people. I really love the chicken satay and the beef or chicken rendang. Great if you are looking for a quiet relaxing place with excellent food. Also their whisky list is extensive.

Thanks
Jason

I get delivery from here often. It’s one of my go-to spots for Vietnamese food. I always get the fresh spring rolls. The peanut sauce is spot on and the shrimp is fresh. You can never go wrong with this appetizer. The beef vermicelli is really good too. Love all the fresh vegetables they use and the pickled radishes and carrots are absolutely mouthwatering.

This neighborhood spot is quite nice. They offer a good selection of dishes, but the flavors are just average, and the prices are a bit steep compared to other places. On the bright side, the service is excellent. Our server offered helpful suggestions for customizing any dishes how we wanted. We ordered summer rolls (good and freshly prepared), veggie Asian noodle with beef broth (they initially gave me chicken broth and changed it to beef broth) and chao ga was good with extra veggies on the side.

In general, the food was decent, and the standout service definitely enhances the experience, even though we found it slightly pricey.

Saigon Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown JC! I’ve been coming here for 4 years and it’s always my go to spot for takeout, though dine-in is a wonderful experience as well with stellar service & staff. I’m gluten free and I appreciate the knowledge they have around that and the fact that they have plenty gluten free options and can modify most dishes to be gluten free. I’ve tried many dishes from here but my favorites are their rice porridge, chicken meatball soup, and mango salad.

Cannot emphasize enough how friendly the staff is. Every interaction is kind and helpful. Some may say the prices are high, but in my opinion they are justified by the high quality food and A+ service. Highly recommend!

I haven’t had the chance to eat at Saigon Cafe yet, but I’ve heard nothing but great things about it. Friends and locals keep mentioning how fresh the food is and how consistent the flavors are, especially the pho and the rice dishes. The place seems to have a strong reputation for quality and friendly service, which already puts it high on my list.

Even without trying it yet, the way people talk about Saigon Cafe makes it clear that it’s one of those reliable neighborhood spots you can count on for a good meal. I’m looking forward to stopping by soon and seeing what the hype is about.

My friend wanted to try Viet food so we came here for a small bite. Honestly, I don’t have much experience when it comes to this cuisine, but the waitress was so kind to give great recommendations. We actually ate beforehand and regretted it, should’ve came on empty stomach because the food was so tasty and flavorful. Also although the curry bread puff(?) took some time, it was worth the wait. They actually made it fresh?! I was expecting them to just microwave hard bread or something but they did not disappoint, it was freshly-made, soft and flaky. Def revisiting in the near future

Always so good. Whether it’s dining in for dinner or lunch, or taking it to go – the food is always so fresh and incredible. I like the Saigon Crepe and Beef Noodle Soup. Their pho is excellent as well. They’re a mainstay in the neighborhood and have a full bar. Not the most kid friendly (no kids after 7) but we’ve worked around that. They’re great neighbors, and the food is worth it.

Everything was super fresh and delicious. The shrimp summer roll was excellent and the seafood udon noodle soup was super light and perfectly flavored. The tapioca banana pudding was a bit too sweet for my taste but overall this place is a gem. They are fairly priced and the service is super friendly and welcoming. Would definitely be coming back.

Spicy beef lemongrass noodle soup is a very good alternative to the common pho noodle soup. The satay chicken was pretty good as well! Do not expect a sub-$20 meal here
