Pretty standard beach food for Florida. A fairly simple selection of draft beer and good fresh fish and shrimp options. Really nice and attentive service.

Excellent food and great service. Even though it was very busy we still got our food and drinks quickly.

We enjoyed a fantastic evening at Rum Bay Restaurant on Palm Island. The quick water taxi ride over just adds to the experience — it feels like a little adventure before dinner even begins.

We went with a group of friends and had a wonderful night. The food was excellent, the atmosphere relaxed and coastal, and the service friendly and attentive. It’s the kind of place where you can unwind, enjoy great conversation, and take in the island vibe.

A memorable dinner spot and well worth the short boat ride. We’ll definitely be back!

A Palm Island staple. The restaurant sits on the second level. The small grocery shop and Coconuts ice cream is on the first level. Outdoor dining is available, weather permitting. The menu offers American fare with a dash of flair. My favorite is the Yucca fries, which is sometimes seasonally offered. To-go is available in case you want to dine in your house or room at the resort. Since it is the only venue on-island, expect long wait times on busier nights. It is an early crowd.

If you’ve never been here before, make sure you know about the parking lot. You have to either walk or use a golf cart to get to the restaurant. It is a fairly long walk, especially if you’re not expecting it. Most island goers know the routine and get around in golf carts.

Wow. What an incredible experience. Not just a meal, but an experience.

Let me start with Service. Incredibly, fantastic. Our server, Kristen, so attentive, everything was prompt, and just right.

The food was absolutely fantastic. The burger was the best burger I think I have ever had. Cooked perfectly. And the flavor, wow, out of this world.

Thank you for making this a great experience for us.

I didn’t even know this place existed. My husband hadn’t been there in decades. It is awesome. It’s off the intercoastal end. It’s a resort. Also, the restaurant is part of the resort and there’s a little pathway that’s reserved for guests, but we walked out to the beach to the Gulf in beautiful. Beautiful white sand now the resort is coming back after the hurricane. It’s still not 100%, but the restaurant is open and it’s so cute and the food was really good. We had 3 things, and they’re all delicious. We had the grilled blue cheese tomatoes. The black bean burger and the coconut shrimp and I would go back and eat it all again. The service was awesome, and we got there by boat. I’m not sure if you can get there. By car, I don’t know if they allow you to drive in. I saw many golf carts a great little place

Went to Rum Bay for Valentine’s Day dinner. Ordered the Taste of Rum Bay and a side plate of grouper. Coconut shrimp wee good. Wings were good. Ribs were dry and tough. Had to gnaw them off the bone. My grouper was grossly under cooked ie, raw. Had it sent back and removed from the bill. The narrow end of my sisters grouper was cooked but the larger end was raw. Couldn’t eat it. Her ribs were tough and dry also. Daughter had a lobster roll that was imitation crab and overcooked lobster (super rubbery). Husband’s dinner was fine but he requested seasoned rice and the server brought a Caesar salad. Never got the rice. Party of 6 seated next to us was plastered and VERY LOUD. Would not recommend this restaurant. Very disappointed. Spent way too much money on sub-standard food. Chef/cook should be ashamed mad embarrassed. Best part of the evening was the boat ride.

Outstanding lunch here. The fish tacos were excellent. The grouper sandwich was extremely flavorful. And the key lime pie . . . chef’s kiss! There is no skimping on the liquor in the drinks either! lol. Our server was great too!

My family and I have been to Rum Bay countless times ever since we began visiting the island. We’ve enjoyed most of our meals—except tonight’s.

We visited for the Christmas buffet dinner they hosted and were extremely disappointed. Now of course, I never go into a buffet with high expectations—but not rock bottom either.

When I tell you the food served was as rock bottom as it gets, I mean it. Not one item was good. The chicken had a rubber texture, the Mac & Cheese was absolutely disgusting—it could have been noodles and butter for all I know, and don’t even get me started on the dessert.

I desperately attempted to find one item out of the mashed potatoes, meats, mac, salad, soup—and I just couldn’t. All bland and almost inedible. After the first few bites, the entire table looked at each other in complete shock at how bad it all was.

On top of this, our waitress took forever—she was chatting with other guests.

Not sure how to feel about this place anymore and we left hungry! 🙁
