Social Profile:

In 2013, two brothers with mad skills in the kitchen—Jason and Brian Lees—decided to share their passion for bold Southern flavors and crazy big portions and Roux 61 was born. Our first location in Natchez, Mississippi quickly became a regional culinary favorite and now hungry foodies travel across state lines to experience “what everyone has been raving about,” only to return time and again for the quirky-cool atmosphere and belly-rubbing deliciousness that elevates each dish from good to “good lawd!” Now with our second location in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, we are bringing the yummy-good flavors of the South to everyone’s mouth. Come by and let our Roux Crew serve you some of the finest food (and coldest beer) you’ve ever experienced!

Lively, stylish setting for contemporary Southern eats, including po’ boys, catfish & steaks.

we got there on a friday evening/night and got seated right away. they were soooooo busy so we expected a wait. our server was so nice. we did wait a bit for the appetizers maybe 35 min which was no problem but the entrees took about an 1hour to finally get to us. we ended up packing the food home because the wait was long but we were kind of full off the oysters and waiting anyways. it wasn’t a big deal considering how busy they were but i would definitely recommend not going on an empty stomach because that’s what i did, from not eating all day at work to waiting a long time, i was hangry but everyone has their days! business is booming for them and that’s wonderful but i wish next time, we get a little more attention than this last visit…

Catfish platter, fried shrimp poboys, steak bites, and crawfish etoufee is straight . Restaurant is always packed so expect a wait. Staff is friendly and courteous. Bread pudding is quite delicious to finish off your meal with as well. Check them out if you’re on Bluebonnet.

This Cajun seafood restaurant was a bit of a letdown. The atmosphere was cozy, but the food was just okay. The seafood was fresh, but the flavors were lacking. The Butterfly Shrimp was a bit too mushy…possibly over cooked, and the Catfish Platter was so so. The service was friendly, but a bit slow. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I wouldn’t rush back.

Was in town last week for a college visit and decided to come to Roux even before we got to Baton Rouge. We got there early enough as we were seated right away. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. By the time we left the place was full and not a seat open. Food was wonderful and filling. The house salad was full of tangerines, pecans and cranberries. One of us had the seafood platter and what was nice is that the catfish had a very light breading. Another had the shrimp boil and I had the seafood potato. The sauce was rich but man it was great. We also had the gator bites and 1/2 dozen grilled oysters. If we are ever back this way, we will be back for sure.

What a cool place…

This was a great choice for dinner. It has really cool decor and a great environment. It is casual but upscale where you go there to watch sports, have a business meeting, or even a date. The service was off the hook awesome – Emily is a Rockstar waitress. The food was delicious. We had the gator bits as an appetizer. I had the catfish lebeaux, which was great. My friend had the delta queen and really enjoyed it. This is a great place to have a great meal.

The platter was just right for me. I got coconut shrimp and fish. I ate too much and it was worth every bite. I sat at the bar. It was right at 6:00pm, so they were busy. Service wasn’t great, but it wasn’t horrible either. The strawberry lemonade was tasty too.

This location was fantastic for a busy Friday night for New Years weekend. A friend and I showed up for about 6:30. We walked in and gave our name to the hostess and were told it would be about five minutes to be seated. Two minutes later we were seated and a waiter arrived very promptly and took a drink order and appetizer order. The food was outstanding and arrived hot and fresh. From the time that we arrived till the time all the food was placed on the table was about 25 minutes. I had past this location many times and never stopped. Due to the outstanding customer service and fantastic food, I will return again.

every time we are in baton rouge we have to dine here because it’s always great food and good service in a relaxed atmosphere. this time we started with the hushpuppies – which were really good – and the fries green tomatoes – which were really thick but a bit salty and the side dressing wasn’t good. for the main we got the seafood platter — which was plentiful and tasty; the stuffed portobello mushroom – again plentiful and tasty; and the house salad plus cajun potatoes. the house salad was really good with good ingredients and the potatoes were ok as they lacked seasoning.

overall consistently a great meal and good service

Great food and service. Gator tail was the most tender I’ve ever had anywhere. Got a cup of the gumbo. They let you know that it’s a dark roux, and while ok, it was just before being bitter. Would definitely go back, but get something else. The Delta Queen was enough for 2 people.

Y’all did not disappoint, everything was so amazing! Thanks to Morgan (our server) who put in each food item at just the right time, so the food came out in courses and not all at once! I even had a chance to meet y’all’s outdoor pet while out on the deck, looking at the lake!!!
Now off to New Orleans…
